How about Video.

With that attitude - life.
Let him suffer like his victim did. Till he's dead.

Too bad we cant 'do unto others' and let him get what he gave his victim. That doesn't work in a civilized society. The 'chair' will work or the gas chamber.

Why? Costs us a fortune ... the death penalty is cheap when the convict doesn't challenge it. I'd rather use that money to fund some cops, or not incur debt on prison construction, or almost anything else.

one of my brothers came up with a very Good idea... many years ago,,,regarding prison sentencing...

Create a machine that can medically AGE a person.... if a guy gets "20 years".... he then enters this machine they press a few buttons... the perp comes out.... and IS aged !!! that many years.... :o[:/]:S
Go in aged 28... come out an hour later , aged 48....commit MORE crimes.... get YEARS added to your AGE.....
no need to warehouse people.... no capital punishment.. No expensive Bills to house the repeat offenders....Once the general public learns that such a machine is REAL.......i bet there would be many fewer folks so likely to buck the justice system...
:|

do some serious crime... and get Multiple 20 or 30 year sentences...... Done deal...... you get aged to say 120..... and poof.. you're done....

no muss no fuss....

Weird. The facility I'm working at today isn't known for blocking IPs. I wonder if they have a beef for this partIcular one.

Well, Shit. If we're talking fantasy land why don't you create a society that lives peacefully with each other, instead? I mean, since we're talking nonsense, anyway.
Or murder-proof humans. If someone tried to murder the un-murder-able then, they go to the machine that realigns the mindset. I mean, since we're talking....well, you know.

I think science fiction tends to have this right - if we stop aging (Out of Time, the Island, Logan's Run sort of), then there are still haves and haves not. We're not good enough to end in a utopia where we live peacefully with each other.

But your question is fair enough. The big expense with "aging" a convict either in jail or for real is then he gets to that expensive medicare stage of his life. Again, if he wants to die, oblige him and save the money.

Your brother should write sci fi books.
When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy.

Agreed I suppose.
Suddenly seems odd to consider life the more vengeful option....

Seeing the way he talked to the court and the jury on TV - to me he was thumbing his nose at the system and the family. He never even apologized for his kidnapping, raping, and murdering.
Death is too good for people like this guy.
That's been my argument all along.
It's too easy of a way out for them.
