Those that know Christ know that Christ knows them.
II Timothy 3:
16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
I realize this means nothing to you. However, a lurker may benefit.

What Jesus did or did not do, and did or did not say, has very little - if anything - to do with what is written about the subject. The record is garbled, contradictory and entirely suspect, and the various authors all had massive conflicts of interest.
It may appear that way to some, but the real message of the Bible is best read from the lives it has transformed from evil into a force for good.
All else is just a bunch of words on a page.

And what about the people who's good intentions it has turned to evil?

Personally I think holy jokes about Jesus are a bit insensitive....

Meh, so many people over the course of time have claimed to be inspired by god to start some new organization, way of life, religion, etc. Funny enough, the 'inspiration' is always in line with their own personal agendas.
The world would be a better place if we all just treated each other well as humans instead of fighting over trivialities of religion invented by man.

I'm surprised the bible inspires anyone at all. It's the third most boring book I ever read (it come right after Mein Kampf and the quran, apparently totalitarian ideologies all have boring books at their base)

It must be nice to live in such a simplified world. I just have trouble shutting my eyes and plugging my ears that tightly.

Well then pilgrim, I guess they built their house on the sand instead of the rock.

Agreed. It is not the words; it is the message that helps people transform their lives. (True for many works, not just the Bible.) That's one of the reasons I think quibbles over the factual accuracy of the Bible miss the point. It's not the historical accuracy that matters.

You have reaffirmed my confidence in the malevolent sanctimony to be expected from True Believers (tm).
The contempt you engender is well earned.
