(From the amount the courts have been used to interpret laws, though, there have been an awful lot of ambiguous laws over the years.) Keep in mind that "less ambiguous" often means "stricter." Do you really want stricter environmental, gun, tax etc laws? In some cases that might make sense; in others the ambiguity gives enforcement agencies the power to enforce the meaning rather than the letter of the law (although that has the potential for abuse.)
