I don't know of any gay rights people who are "so offended when their value system is not taken seriously." I think they just want to live their lives without interference. Coreece 190 #7 August 3, 2012 QuoteI think they just want to live their lives without interference. Ya, boo-hoo...me too-good luck with that. ...and is there a better way to do this then getting government and public opinion involved? Many gays I know are getting along fine without all the "rights" and legal disadvantages of traditional marriage...most laugh at the idea. ...and if they have to be legally united, what's so wrong with having a civil union that would actual give the same legal rights? If it's really about the word "marriage" then marriage is between a man and a woman...and a cat is not a dog. Personally this whole thing sound like a desperate attempt for attention/acceptance. "We're here and we're queer and you better like it! You better condone our lifestyle!" Well I don't, no more than I condone my own carnal lifestyle...and I refuse to make excuses for it, let alone someone else's. I'm insulted that it seems as though we are being put in a situation to make a decision on this and either condone it or be labeled a bigot in a lame attempt to bash christianity....leave me out of it.Your secrets are the true reflection of who you really are... If it is your goal to make those who oppose your view point more entrenched, you have succeeded. What gay rights crowd? Oh, you mean the people bitching about CFA? That's not a gay rights crowd, that's a small minority of gay people bitching about CFA. What base value system? I know gays who don't want the federal government in the business of defining marriage. I know gays who don't give a rat's ass because they don't want to look like or act like straights. I know gays who are religious missionaries. I know gays who sit around and stare at their navels. I also know a couple of gays who are offended by the CFA thing. But they're not offended or surprised about the companies stance on gay marriage. They offended because CFA donates money to organizations that actively defame gays with blatent lies. That kinda pisses me off too because I believe in fighting an honest fight based on the truth. So yeah, I guess my core values about truth are offended. Quote If it is your goal to make those who oppose your view point more entrenched, you have succeeded. It's a pretty shitty hole to be stuck in, not a goal. Someone lies about you, so you argue back. They take their deep pockets and use it to make the lies louder and more horrible, you try to argue back... And lots and lots of ignorant people believe those lies and they think that they're supporting free speech and christian values (and as far as I know, telling lies isn't one) when they're just feeding the machine of hatred and defamation. Congrats to all of you. Back to staring at my navel.Owned by Remi #?
