There is absolutely no basis provided for their hypothesis in the first line. How do they know he was shot for that reason?

There is no basis provided that this is an attack on free speech.

Mogadishu is a pretty violent place and I'm pretty sure they do not have a constitutional right to free speech to begin with, so even harder to claim it is being attacked.
