Another climate skeptic moves to the science corner

Recommended Posts

Who's going to take control if not the governments? I wonder???

Exxon Mobil and the Koch brothers, of course.

You forgot to add: Dick Cheney, Karl Rove, the CORPERATIONS, Halliburton, George Bush, the Tea Party, Big (anything), and the host of other boogiemen that keep you lefties up at night.

I was just thinking, the left loves to hand out condoms, they should really look at tin foil hats being given away

As opposed to your belief that just about every climate scientist in the world is involved in a conspiracy so that Al Gore and GE can make money.

Nope

Your mind reading failed you again

I understand many trully believe this is happening

It is the debate that concerns me

This science is far from settled

>Flat?

He's not saying it's flat and he's not saying it's round. The science is not settled. Some scientists think it's an oblate spheriod, but you don't care, do you. You, the lamestream media and Al Gore don't want the public to know the TRUTH!

What shape is the planet on your world?

Rounder than yours I would guess

I know you think that's the smart answer here, but it still means you have an inaccurate view of the world.

No quade

what the post and/or question really demonstrated is your intolerance of people whose view differs from yours

So, when you reach the end of your argument, (as demonstrated here) you resort to childish comments to try and belittle the person you are debating

A sad but all too often tactic used by those on the left to try and intimidate and label as stupid those who take them on

But you see, for that to work I need to worry about what you or others think of me. I don’t care what you think of me. I do not need your approval to get through a day. So what you are trying does not work

So, I find that, when people resort to this kind of antic, I get amused and play along :)

Right... You don't care, which is why you've spent so much time defending your position . . . that you don't care about.

Oh...kay....

No, Marc, the problem isn't that you don't care about our opinion of you. The problem is you don't care to do even the slightest amount of research into what global climate change is because you're in total denial it is even possible.

Now why do you do this?

I didnt say I didnt care about my position, I said I dont care what you think of me. That is why your tactic fails on me

(now I see you have added more)

Back to my other post

I am now stupid, uniformed or ignorant if I dare disagree with you

Again Paul, it is very hard to keep a debate civil when you resort to this tactic of talking down to others

You are doing to me what other Mods have told me to stop doing

I'm going to have to side with Rush on this one over the mob.

If the science around warming was as clear cut as the round earth, then their models would constantly fail to predict or explain what has been happening.

You go high enough, you can see the curvature of the earth. The climate model is several orders of magnitude more complex. So come up with better insults than this...it only makes you guys look like jackasses.

No, Marc. I don't think you're stupid. I think you're in deep denial. I can even understand how you got that way and I don't blame you for it. I do however, think if you would actually look at the data, it is without a doubt absolutely saying the planet is getting hotter. This has huge implications which you completely denied where even possible just the other day.

All you need do is open your eyes to it. It's there. If you deny it's there, then it's not the fault of the science.

I have looked
I have listened and read respect experts

You (in my mind) have bought into the alarmism

I am not in denial

I am informed

And I cant understand how people can be so duped into buying into this crap at its worse level

(the last sentence was posted to duplicated, in reverse, to demostate lack of respect or tolerance for others)

If I was the only one on this planet (which IS round by the way) who believed as I do you MIGHT have a point

But I am not

And the lie that states nearly all scientists agree is a bald face lie

The debate concerns me, too. It is a sign that many people have rejected science, logic, and reason.

The question "Is the climate changing?" stopped being controversial for the day-to-day business of climate researchers a decade ago, at least. So much data had piled up that climate change stopped being a question. Instead it became an accepted finding. Researchers could not escape it if they tried. Source

I don't think 98% of climatologists in agreement can be called "far from settled".

What is far from settled is the opinion of wilfully uninformed people.

The climate is changing

That is what, by definition, it does
The question is, is man affecting the changes

You can keep posting that lie if you want

Does not change anything

Well somebody needs to tell Mother Nature to get on board with "science". Temperatures are flat, longest period in history without a major hurricane hitting the US, record Antarctic Ice, rebounding artic ice, record number of polar bears, etc. etc. It is looking like reality might be a "denier".

From NOAA

•The combined global land and ocean average surface temperature for January–June 2012 was the 11th warmest on record

So much for unprecedented warming!

Accelerating sea levels? Nope.
