quade 4 #51 July 27, 2012 QuoteDo seriously think Green Berets are not trained to fire effectively in dark chaos? And exactly how long has it been since your glory days, Steve? I'm not saying that at one time you weren't a great op, but seriously, are you that same guy today?quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

quade 4 #53 July 27, 2012 QuoteSimply put. I'm actually better. Ok, I guess there's no denying you're better than 99.9% of the normal people. Fine, that's cool. What about the 99.9% of all the other folks? Should they have even tried to "take the shot"? I mean, they don't have your Green Beret training or years and years (30?) of other better than Green Beret training, so, what do you think their odds at getting a head shot under those circumstances would have been?quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
steveorino 7 #54 July 27, 2012 I never said everyone with concealed carry permit should fire. I would and so would all ex SF guys posting my question about what would they do said they'd do as we were trained. Return fire and advance on hi position. steveOrino
steveorino 7 #55 July 28, 2012 Quote>Do seriously think Green Berets are not trained to fire effectively in dark chaos? Most military people I know are trained to do a great many things, but have the common sense to not do any of them in a crowded theater. Is very obvious you guys have not had close quarter training. Most haven't; I have. I would not run or cover. I would fire and advance to the shooter. I promos you he would not be expecting that! smoke ... big deal! body armor ... a few well placed rounds and he would be down regardless if anything penetrated. On the SF BROTHERS forum ever swing one of them said they would engage. I guess there a lot of us old "fools" steveOrino
DaVinci 0 #56 July 30, 2012 QuoteIt's how I grew up and I will tell you without a shadow of a doubt that at no time in my midnight movie attendance starting in high-school in the mid-'70s did I ever have to be concerned about a loonie walking into any of the theaters and spraying the audience with a hundred rounds out of a gun. Never. Not a single time. And yet there are more gun laws now than back then.....
