Happy White People's Day

Recommended Posts

Race didn't seem to be a factor. It's just hard to get into prison through the state system unless you are violent.
I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet..

But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.

No not really because the premise is sound even if you do not think it is.... do I thin they are predisposed to crime... no. Do I think how they are raised and the culture they live in makes them more likely to commit crime.... yes sadly. The more they live on handouts the worse it will get. The repressing is being done by the enablers. [:/]

I've heard this argument before. It is thoroughly unconvincing, randian nonsense.

You have heard it bc it is call "logic". Care to explain why it is "randian nonsense"?

>Why don't white people also take just as much advantage of the "enablers"?

Because, IMO, they don't have a history of being denied schooling, housing and jobs by the government, and essentially forced into roles where they have to get government assistance to survive.

Fortunately that is no longer true. Now give whites a few generations and I have faith that they will catch up.

People are pissed off precisely because it is true and reminds them what a fucked up deal it was. People pretty much don't ever want to be reminded that the myths they hold dear are simply myths.

Not that they'll actually admit it.

A lot of our founding fathers were fucked up.

If you base your entire political belief system on dogmatic adherence to what they believed was right (I'm looking at you, Tea Party), then it kind of blows your theories out of the water when you're reminded how fucked up slavery was and how these same guys who are otherwise so seemingly faultless and sacrosanct when it comes to some issues, were completely and utterly in the wrong about something as basic as "all men are created equal."

Bottom line - very few people are more influential than the system in which they live. The way they lived was part of the system of the times. Otherwise, all men should feel horrible for being men because it took so long for women to get the rights they have and for the rights they still don't have in most places; all white people should feel terrible because their ancestors kept black slaves; all people of western European descent should feel terrible because of the imperialistic colonizing habits of their ancestors (and the continued efforts to impose their will on the rest of the world), and so on and so forth.

Whining, nothing but whining.

You are the one whining because people keep reminding you that all of these injustices are still going on in present day America and you don't want to think about it. There are lunatics alive today in America who would bring back the past if they were given the chance.

Exactly. All of that is still going on today. That's the problem.

What injustices? You haven't provided a single shred of evidence that massive numbers of people who didn't commit a crime have been put in jail because of their race.

I never stated that massive numbers of people who didn't commit a crime have been put in jail because of their race.

Except minorities are now given priority. So I agree with you... we should stop crap like affirmative action!

Yes. Faulty logic.

Here you go. Ayn Rand's Social Policy

The powers delegated by the proposed Constitution to the federal government are few and defined. Those which are to remain in the State governments are numerous and indefinite.
James Madison, Federalist No. 45, January 26, 1788

Right so it's not nonsense.... just your opinion that it is.

I stopped reading right here, "One of the most popular philosophers of the 20th Century was Ayn Rand."

When the first sentence is full of bullshit, the rest isn't likely to improve.

Ayn Rand's "philosophy" boils down to, only the self matters. Fuck everyone else.

That's not really much of a philosophy though. It's just being selfish.

Ok, just read it to humor you.

My opinion still stands regardless of the arguments being made late in the piece. In fact, my opinion supports those arguments. Rand's philosophy is, in fact, nothing more than selfishness.

Where'd that come from? It has nothing to do with this discussion.

Here's something else that dead guy wrote more than two hundred years ago in paper #45:

“The regulation of commerce, it is true, is a new power; but that seems to be an addition which few oppose, and from which no apprehensions are entertained.”

Just like your quote, it too has nothing to do with this discussion.

So first you claim:

Quote

"if we're so free, then why is it that we have the highest per capita incarceration rate in the world?" Did you know that in 2008 approximately one in every 31 adults (7.3 million) in the United States was behind bars, or being monitored (probation and parole) and that 70% of them are non-whites?

Now you claim you didn't say it was a massive problem. If insinuating that these people are being jailed unjustly isn't the definition of a massive problem, then give me an example of what is. :S

And yet you continue to make the same mistake over and over again.

Pity really.

Aight, Quade... I'm back.

So, lets go over this... again... given that this is (unless my memory fails me) the first time you have made the statement you did.

"The first one. Not his son; he was a class A-1 prick"

And I'll use your treasured and regularly cited source... Wiki-crap-edia:

Quote

"The flag was designed by and is named after American general and statesman Christopher Gadsden."

So... unless your source is wrong... that is the correct Gadsden, who designed it... correct?

Though, EVEN this source... credits Franklin.

"The timber rattlesnake and eastern diamondback rattlesnake both populate the geographical areas of the original thirteen colonies. Their use as a symbol of the American colonies can be traced back to the publications of Benjamin Franklin"

Christopher's father... was named Jenna. And has nothing to do with the flag.

Christopher, married 3 times... had 4 children with his second wife.

And there is nothing about any of his sons and the flag.

So... WTF are you talking about? What am I missing?

But either way... if not for Franklin... it wouldn't have been a symbol used on that flag, by any Gadsden.

And you're usage, for a game character...

...still lame.

The terribly sad truth about the TeaScumbaggers and the RWCs in general is that there is no factual information that can be provided that can break them out of their belief structure. Once they have a belief, that's it. No matter how wrong, fucked up, inane, provincial, or absolutely ignorant the belief, they stick with it. Facts and truth DO NOT MATTER AT ALL.

I'm sorry ...but... what is wrong, fucked up, insane, provincial and ignorant, about...

FOLLOW THE CONSTITUTION!!

?

Quote

It used to be that being ignorant was something that was seen as slightly shameful, in need of being corrected. Not any more. The TeaScumbaggers and RWCs are amazingly ignorant of the facts and are very proud of it.

Is it not ...ignorant... to comment about, politics, when my post(s) have been about, principle...

Like, FOLLOW THE CONSTITUTION!!... posts in which I continually speak about how, the problem with the country is politics, and that we have forgotten, our principles (or at least our Founding Principles)?

Like, Federalism and Limited government.

Witness the Fast and Furious bullshit. One guy gets killed in a shootout and they flip out. They really should read the story at

http://features.blogs.fortune.cnn.com/2012/06/27/fast-and-furious-truth/

but they won't. The facts conflict with the beliefs that were carefully nurtured by the RWC media machine.

Politics... not principle.

Though... find the Truth is a principle.

So what is it the Tea Party is missing about F and F... I can read this long ass BS article from a corrupt media outlet later, but not at the moment (P.S...and Fox sux too)

The grandson (excuse me for the previous brain fart of calling him his son, but a direct descendant none the less) of Christopher Gasden was a total tool named, James.

Okay... but ah, you're still wrong.

If not for Franklin... no snake on a yellow flag.

Franklin, while questionably making the "first" woodcut, almost certainly wasn't the first to refer to the colonies with reference to the rattlesnake. It's a bit like the "invention" of the lightbulb being claimed by Edison. Popular in American folklore perhaps, but certainly not the first to do it.

Wow... if you can't even admit you are wrong, on this, and have to post this load of crap to save face... you really are not gonna like finding out about the declaration that came before the DoI.

And again... your reasoning for being mad at the tea party for using the flag, is ridiculous.

Franklin was a Federalist... one of the strongest supports of the Constitution.

With the above stated principles of the Tea Party, they are 100% in line with Franklin's views.

Politics vary even within the INDIVIDUAL tea party's and between members... principles do not. Why is it that you and so many others on this board can not grasp this? INDIVIDUALISM.

:)Edit: typo

I am SO glad you're SO up on your history, except, of course, who's flag that particular symbol flew on.

Tsk, tsk.

The name you're looking for is "Gadsden." The first one. Not his son; he was a class A-1 prick.

The original designed Gadsden flag snake is looking to the left (DONT TREAD ON ME), yours to the right side ;)

LOL.
