I Really Really Really HOPE this is NOT true

Recommended Posts

Quote

Tomorrow, at around 10:30am EDT, the Democrat-left-media complex will launch the most aggressive and sustained attack on the institution of the Supreme Court in the history of our Republic. When the Court throws out at least some portion of ObamaCare tomorrow, President Obama and his partisans on the left and in the media will effectively declare war on the third co-equal branch of government and seek, in every possible way, to undermine the legitimacy of the Court.
They have already tried to lay the groundwork for their attacks. Politico today even unearthed disgraced former Congressman Anthony Weiner to test-drive the coming partisan attacks against the Court. Glimpses of these attacks have been around since oral arguments back in March, but when the reality of the Court's rejection of Obama's signature "achievement" becomes clear, the ferociousness of the attacks will be like nothing we've ever seen. It bears repeating: the left is willing to destroy the credibility of the Supreme Court in order to defend their policy failure.

ObamaCare was never popular with the public. In fact, it was so unpopular that it sparked a nation-wide grass roots movement that led to sweeping losses of Democrat elected officials at every level of government. Today, you'd be hard-pressed to find any Democrat in a competitive race running in support of the law.

Remember that when the left starts screaming that the Court is somehow going against the public interest. In fact, anything less than scrapping the entire law would be going against what the public wants. Today, a WSJ/NBC poll, which tends to juice its surveys to help Democrats, found that, by a 15 point margin, more adults would rather see the whole law scrapped than have it stand.

When Obama was inaugurated, Democrats had their largest congressional majorities in decades. They had a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate. The GOP, under Bush, had seemingly permanently tarnished their brand. Pundits at the time talked of a "permanent Democrat majority." Even then, due to vocal public opposition, they almost couldn't pass the bill. They had to resort to abominations like the Cornhusker Kickback, changes in congressional procedure and ramming through a 2,700 page bill before anyone had a chance to read it. Never in our nation's history has such a far-reaching piece of legislation not received at least one vote from the minority party.

Remember that when the left yells that tomorrow's action by the Court is merely some partisan act. When they shout that the Court is acting on behalf of "corporate interests", remember the sweetheart deals the Democrats cut with the drug and health insurance industries to win passage of the bill. They bought off and had the support of virtually every corporation involved in health care. But, they couldn't buy off the American public, and tomorrow the Supreme Court will speak for them.

Sure they'll attack. Watch the attacks that come from the right if the Act is found Constitutional.

The POTUS has attacked the SCOTUS before. The POTUS has a history dating back at least to Old Hickory in attacking the SCOTUS. It's tough to see any rhetoric or actions exceeding what FDR did.

I simply don't even find this to be a story. It's dog bites man.but if the indivudla mandate is tossed, I'll lay even money odds that the POTUS will have made a statement he'd like to "clarify" within five days.

Or Lincoln. You know you're reading political crap when it opens with a line about the greatest attack in the history of our republic. I expect the President to express grave regret and dismay about health care remaining unsolved. He'll make it about HC, not the SC.

As the media, it won't even live up to the attacks over the Citizens United decision.

This commentary was drafted by a friend of my close friend who is a PGR and Vietnam veteran. His statements accurately sum it up for me and my compadres.

"My Presidents

The first president I can remember was Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower. I was just a kid, but I was in awe of “Ike”.
As a teen, John Kennedy was inspiring.
Lyndon Johnson was irritating, while Richard Nixon made me angry.
... Gerald Ford and Jimmie Carter both seemed inept.
Ronald Reagan was a leader.
George H.W. Bush was dedicated.
And Bill Clinton was embarrassing.
George W. Bush was a patriot.
Barack Hussein Obama is frightening. He truly scares the crap out of me.

He scares me because he has shown he possesses the ability work the political machine against all odds. I mean, honestly, four years ago who would have believed that a young black man (Arab) with very little real experience in anything could have risen to such heights? With everything that had happened with the Middle East, who would believe that someone with so many questions in his background and a name like Barack Hussein Obama would stand a chance against a white, highly experienced United States Senator who was a decorated war hero and a Vietnam POW? Obama certainly demonstrated that he can manipulate America’s false sense of guilt and political correctness and combine it with generations of Americans locked into the government handout mentality to rally a force that overcame a nation’s common sense.

Even more frightening is the fact that after three years of failed domestic programs, trillions of dollars in additional deficit spending and an absolute naiveté in international diplomacy, he still has some supporters. We have watched as he and the first lady have vacationed, golfed, and hobbed-nobbed with the liberal elite while our nation drowns in debt, millions are out of work, and our stature as a super-power erodes with every international conference. He frightens me because he blatantly lies. He promised transparency and unification, yet he has done his best to hide the workings of our government from the people while his subliminal racism has done more to divide America than we’ve been in any other time in our history since the Civil War.

However, the most frightening thing about Barack Hussein Obama is that I do not believe he is a stupid man. If, in fact, he is not a stupid man, how can he not see what is happening to America under his watch? Is he blind to the economic disaster looming in our nations future? How can he be unaware that America is a powder keg and the people grow more and more angry and divided daily? Does he not understand how the world cares less and less about America’s input and influence on global events? Is he oblivious to the fact that if we don’t make some radical changes soon, America, as we know it, will not be something our grandchildren will inherit? Can he be that stupid?

Like I said, I do not believe Barrack Hussein Obama is a stupid man, and he scares the crap out of me. - Jeff"

I can't believe you take this bullshit at face value, without any reflection or critical thinking.

You know what scares the crap out of me? The fact that there are millions of Americans just like you.

What he said...

Right Wing Conservative nutters, especially the false "christian" kind, are dragging the USA into the toilet. The useless bastards can't tell fact from fiction, truth from lies, and discard anything that exposes their immense hipocrisy. Truth, Justice, and the Amercian Way only apply to those of white, northern european ancestry who love guns and hate anything to do with actual christian values like feeding the poor, helping the sick, and other nice things that christians are supposed to do.

Critical thinking is BAD. Reflection is BAD. You lose your RWC street cred if you start exercising those skills. An approved RWC never questions anything pumped out by their corporate leaders. That would be un-patriotic, at the very least.

None of the RWCs have ever been able to point out anything positive that has come from CONServative philosophy. If CONServatives had gotten their way, slavery would still be legal, women would not be voting and could not own real estate or investments in their own name as unmarried adults, and "seperate but equal" would still be in effect. Horrible "liberal" ideas like vacation time and sick time from your employer, overtime, and child labor laws never would have happened. CONServatives HATE socialism, except for socialized roads, socialized fire and police departments, socialized military organizations, etc, etc. It is their new wicked scary word for for things that might actually benefit those nasty poor, , lazy, non-white folks somehow. Socialized benefits to wealthy citizens and corporations is BITCHIN, and must never be stopped. Much better to cut things that help regular folks. We can't have the rich and the corporations actually pay reasonable tax rates. Screw the regular folks.

Perhaps in 100 years historians will equate Breitbart with Becket.
But I seriously doubt it.

As I said above (and conveniently snipped): "
Yeah, that must've *SUCKED* getting the liberal scheming exposed like that"

I received an admonition from Andy9o8 for making a similar statement regarding the passing of Walter Cronkite. My negative feelings for the CBS news anchor stemmed from his bias regarding the Vietnam War.

Liberals are always right and conservatives are always wrong. They can prove it to you with clever and witty statements about things you never considered important while obfuscating the things you do consider paramount.

Referring back to my post, #17, I think you just proved my point by obfuscating it. But, what the hey, it's only a forum of bravo sierra to begin with.

Hey, Jesus was a long haired hippie liberal who despised the rich, told us to pay our taxes, and fed the poor.

Kind of exact opposite of Ron and the rest of the "Christian" right.

According to accounts attributed to "Matthew" and "Luke," he was the firstborn son of the House of David and therefore royalty - not just nobility.

His actions were hardly those of one dispossessed, but are more in line with an hereditary ruler following such recommendations as found in "The Prince."

The highly redacted European/Pagan accounts reflect the worldview of their society (Roman) at the time, but do not jibe in the least with the perspective of anyone with a Hebrew following in Judea in the First Century.

The European account is beyond revisionist.

For one day this year you can be happy then! It didn't happen; your hopes are answered.

Yep

We will not see a SC beat down like we would have had the ruling gone the other way

lol! Maybe one side of a 64 sided dice, but if you're still reducing the population to D's and R's, you're woefully mistaken. A claim of civility by either of those groups would be laughable if it weren't so depressing.
