jgoose71 0 #1 June 23, 2012 For those of you that defend the EPA, defend this. I'm dieing to hear what you have to say: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2012/06/21/regulation-requires-oil-refiners-use-millions-gallons-fuel-that-is-nonexistent/ Quote"As ludicrous as that sounds, it's fact," says Charles Drevna, who represents refiners. "If it weren't so frustrating and infuriating, it would be comical." And Tom Pyle of the Institute of Energy Research says, "the cellulosic biofuel program is the embodiment of government gone wild." Refiners are at their wit's end because the government set out requirements to blend cellulosic ethanol back in 2005, assuming that someone would make it. Seven years later, no one has. "None, not one drop of cellulosic ethanol has been produced commercially. It's a phantom fuel," says Pyle. "It doesn't exist in the market place." Other reports say that a plant in North Carolina was trying but ran into technological issues for mass producing. The technology just doesn't exist yet. Another article mentioned that the fines were going to be upwards to $6.5 Million. I know that's not much by big oil standards, but that is not the point. That the EPA can abuse it's power like this is a problem. Big oil has the resources to fight this though, so they are going to. I'm glad personally. When small businesses fight the EPA, even if they win, they loose do to legal costs...."There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss." Life, the Universe, and Everything
