This should make it safer for the government to crush protesting students with tanks. Unarmed civilians are so much easier to massacre.

I've not heard about armed resistance in China en mass and they didn't have guns in Tiannamin square and they were crushed regardless of the worlds media. The world stood watching then and it would again.

Rather like it is in Syria right now. Small arms don't do much good against tanks and helicopter gunships.

The best defense against tanks and helicopter gunships, in my experience, is geography. Being in a different part of the globe than the one with all the projectiles whizzing about serves to greatly improve one's life expecancy.

wonder if the africans in that photos are in China or Chinese owned African states

Kenia does not belong to China, as far as I know.

Kenya-China ; Austria-Australia ; Sweden-Switzeland... Same same, but different

If this is actually in Kenya, at least all these weapons won't be used by poachers. :)

Theres so many old AKs rattling around Africa that this is common practice, to start a fire local indigini have taken to rubbing two AKs together to start a fire as its cheaper than firewood.
