JohnRich 4 #1 May 2, 2012 News:‘Bullet Button’ Used To Get Around California Gun Laws California has some of the strictest gun control laws in the nation. But one wouldn’t know that going to the firing range these days. AR-15s and AK-47s are the must-have guns of choice. How can that be? How is it these military-style guns are legal? Brian Normandy is an instructor at Jackson Arms. “As long as we don’t have a detachable magazine in it, it’s actually a legal firearm,” Normandy said. Other states allow people to use their finger to pop out the magazine and quickly reload. It’s called a detachable magazine, and in California, its use in combination with other features such as a telescoping stock or pistol grip is illegal. To get around this, gun manufacturers are selling firearms to Californians with what is called a “bullet button...”Full story: KCBS Well, let's see... If detachable magazines are not a problem in the other 49 states, then why shouild "bullet buttons" be a problem in California?
davjohns 1 #2 May 2, 2012 That's hysterical. Like when they were selling the crank device to mount on a trigger so you could fire full auto by turning the crank. Americans are going to find a way.I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.

You should see the new stocks that you can set up for single round, or three round or multiple round firing They work just like the select fire on an M16 I will NOT buy one I could not afford the ammo if I did"America will never be destroyed from the outside, if we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves." Which was little more than the old "rubber band behind the trigger" trick. Which was a way for people who didn't know how to "bump fire" or fan the trigger to get simulated full auto out of a semi auto. I've seen guys who can fire anything from a three round burst to to emptying an entire mag at what seems like full auto. From a semi auto. Just make sure the gun can take it. If there's no recoil buffer in the springs, then the bolt will end up coming out othe back of the receiver sooner or later. And these "fixed magazines" that are removable with a tool (or any pointed object) are a fine example of ingenuity getting around stupid bans. Just like when the Tec-9 was banned by name, the maker changed a few parts around and called the "new" gun the DC-9. And then sold it legally."There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." davjohns 1 #6 May 3, 2012 Or when congress wanted to ban the awful 'Black Talon' ammunition, so they quit making the bullets black and named it the silver-tip. Not another complaint.I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.

Skyrad 0 #8 May 5, 2012 Given the availability of firearms in the US and the fact that the only people inconvenienced by such legislation are law abiding owners, its a stupid law. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. JohnRich 4 #9 May 21, 2012 Update:New Legislation To Ban ‘Bullet Button’ The debate over California’s strict gun control laws is about to heat up in Sacramento and it’s all because of what we reported a few weeks ago. “When I saw the news I was absolutely horrified,” said State Senator Leland Yee, referring to a CBS5 report about the so-called bullet button. It’s a modification that enables the magazine of a semi-automatic rifle to be removed quickly, with the tip of a bullet. The modification has allowed military style rifles like the AR-15 to proliferate in the state, something Senator Yee said has got to stop. “It is extremely important that individuals in the state of California do not own assault weapons. I mean that is just so crystal clear, there is no debate, no discussion,” said Yee. That’s why the Senator is introducing a bill to ban the bullet button...Full story: CBS

False, if that were true then these semi versions would be falling apart in the same manner due to semi fire.
