Is Some Homophobia Self-Phobia?

Recommended Posts

I am strongly attracted to alcohol and other mood altering substances. However, I choose not to use them because the payoff of short term ecstasy is long term discomfort. I control my innate urges or cravings because it is the right thing to do.

I want to have sex with all sorts of women but I choose not to because I am married and I have responsibility.

If I choose to be irresponsible in one or more areas of my life then I am choosing to be selfish.

Humans have a will to choose what is right.

I cannot judge someone's soul but I can evaluate their behavior.

Read my posts in this thread again. My message is, if you are going to make a choice do not blame others for it.

So if a gay man is married to another man, then their monogamous sex is okay with you?

It is against what is taught in the Bible. I find it repulsive. However, due to the wussification movement in America, it will probably become legal and or widely accepted.

I am homosexual because _______________.

I chose to have a harder life. I woke up one day and said, "You know what, I'm not gonna like girls anymore and constantly try and hide my new feelings." I am homosexual because I wanted to get made fun of and called a fag and lose friends that I'd had for years. I wanted to have the boulder hanging over my head for 6 years to tell my Catholic parents that I chose to not like girls and would rather date men. I am also homosexual because I had loving parents growing up who were always there for...wait no, I made that up. I had horrible parents and came from a broken home that made me long to have a penis in my ass....

Ok I'll stop...

I am homosexual because I am..and who the ffff cares?

What is this "wussification" you talk about? Be more specific please

Just for the record, sexual preference and alcohol and drugs are not in any way the same. These are things you crave because they have addictive properties and you had them and then wanted more. A homosexual doesn't need to have sex with a man to know that it is what he desires. Same way you won't find someone who has never had alcohol yet feels it is his calling and craves it. It's a dependency, homosexual is not in any way a dependency, it's like preferring chicken over beef. You can eat as much beef as you want but you will always know the chicken is what you really want.

Not to mention the direct self-destructive natures of substance use as opposed to homosexuality.

Why do you want to have sex with all kinds of women when you are married? And if you have this constant craving that you are holding back on, it would indicate you are not sexually satisfied.

Though this is irrelevant as this is merely monogamy, something that homosexuals can have too. They feel a responsibility to remain true to their lovers.

From your posts, I think that if being selfless is a concern of yours, then there are many other areas that require a lot of work.

Yes they do, in all senses. They also have the ability to differentiate 'right' and 'wrong' in their own personal terms. So if the individual sees nothing wrong with homosexuality, why should they even attempt to try act otherwise.

The sad thing is because of this constant bombardment of conservative views through the majority over the years, many homosexuals live in shame, they choose to live fake lives, they abstain from the gay sex like you seem to think they should. Many of them even rather kill themselves than live with the fact that they are gay.

It doesn't matter if a homosexual never touches a penis in his life, it doesn't matter how long he has been with his wife and how faithful he has been. He is just as homosexual as any other.

And then clearly pass judgement on them based on your realm of right and wrong. When I can assure you many people reading your desire to sleep with other woman but just refraining because of responsibility will judge that worse than someone's gender preference.

It is a movement in the U.S. initiated and perpetuated by the liberals and feminists that basically does not want boys to act like boys or men to act like men. According to the belief that no one should ever feel bad, should have to compete, should experience any form of loss. In other words, it is a bullshit fantasy utopia.

Heck yes I'm proud of myself. I'm happier than I've ever been because of what I've accomplished. I'm about to graduate, found a job at a large corporation, have a healthy relationship, don't have an....oh, you mean am I proud of being gay? Sure, I guess. I don't hide it but my source of pride doesn't come from my sexual orientation.

Not sure where you live but i don't see that at all. I see more acceptance, sure. But acceptance and only that. Not a pressure to act a certain way, whether it be feminine or masculine.

Why does anyone debate on the internet?

I'm here to give my point of view on the subject and hopefully open at least one person's eyes to what I have to say. If I can convince my Fox News Poster Parents that I didn't chose this, then hopefully I can convince others ;)

The reason I write in the SC is mainly entertainment, so don't worry too much about my emotional distress. In fact my homosexuality doesn't cause any distress whatsoever, not even because of rejection by others, because in my nick of the woods homosexuals are completely integrated in society and given the full set of rights any human should have. I didn't even have to protest for those rights, they practically handed them to me on a silver platter when I turned 18.

As Meso points out, there's no logic behind the "homosexuality is a choice" nonsense. While one can choose to not act on one's sexual orientation, it's not possible to choose one's SO. There's some arguments to abstain from homosex, that mainly revolve around the Bronze Age idea that an invisible man in the sky doesn't like homosex. I really need something better than that to quit sex.

Again I say, MAN UP.

I did that when I was 14 and came out of the closet. And btw: I think I could learn you a thing or two about manning up after personal loss and tragedy.

Why do you have Sweden in your profile? That is what I mean by standing up for yourself. Be rigorously honest in the micro as well as the macro.
