I got a good laugh from Oran Hatch the other day - saying that he thought the Obama campaign would play dirty and go after Romny's religion.

Who would ever resort to such dirty tactics?

Not surprising at all. The right wing was shocked - appalled - outraged! that Obama would not release his college records, while defending Bush's right to keep his past a secret.

Is *THAT* why Bush released his records? To keep his past a secret?

Be sure to stay tuned.

On a related matter, I noticed the mormons have an LDS mingle dating site. I wonder why they can't use "Christian mimgle"

It's probably due to the bizarre collection of beleifs that the LDS hold on to.

And you guys said Ombama was not a christian;)

I think they get tired of hearing that they're not real Christians because their whacky beliefs are 5% different from other sects' whacky beliefs.

what part of Obama's agenda is centrist? the regulations, wanted tax increases, government insurance, what?

3 years in, you should be measuring him on actual actions, not perceived bogeymans. And most of his actions, ones where he had actual choice in the matter, was to continue Bush policies. This is true for taxes, for Gitmo, for Iraq. ObamaCare is the only notable exception.

Nothing about Obama's college records is in question, unlike Bush's dereliction of duty which was already a Vietnam dodge. I have full faith that the University of Chicago vetted those records before hiring him as a lecturer at their law school for 12 years.

Maybe it would if you're elected on your own merits, and not because you seem to be a symbol...
If some old guy can do it then obviously it can't be very extreme. Otherwise he'd already be dead.

You're assuming everyone voted for him because he's half-black. Open your mind to the possibility that people voted for him because he was the best choice available.

Or because you are "anyone but Obama."

Well, why not? After all, they evidently give out Nobel prizes for being 'anyone but Bush', now.

Quite reasonable, considering that he started 2 wars and almost no-one else alive has done that.

Bush, the only person you named and the proximate proper noun.

In response to Bill's mention of Obama...unless you're trying to say that Bush got a Nobel Peace prize for being "anybody but Bush".

Really? When did he release them?

What were you hoping to discover? That he took Radical Islamic Jihad 302?

This feels like the birther thing all over again. He has a law degree from one of the most prestigious colleges out there, we better find some way to soil it. Same with Kerry's Vietnam record.

He eventually released a document on that.

Couldn't prove it by his remarks....you'd think such a celebrated Constitutional expert would be familiar with Marbury, for example. Or even the separation of powers, something covered in Schoolhouse Rock.

So, *your* support absent proof is A-OK, but skepticism is automatically finding 'some way to soil it'. Got it.

Not everyone, but certainly enuf to put him over the top. I don't believe he was the best choice.

For all we know, he was pushed thru college with lousy grades in the same way many atheletes are. Could have been because he was black and they needed more minorities as Cllege Professors. Just sayin'.

yep, this is just like the birther nonsense.

Harvard Law isn't like Alabama or Florida State. They don't have athletes of marginal education to admit and coddle. They certainly aren't going to pick such a person to head the Harvard Law Review. Same is true for U of Chicago. This is a world renowned school - they're not going to cheapen their reputation hiring a lecturer (not Professor, mind you) of low quality.

It's fair game, and quite appropriate, to attack the man for his lack of experience. It shows often. But you're only making an ass of yourself when trying to suggest the man isn't intelligent and well educated.

I think you make an ass of yourself when you make claims about his grades that you can't support and comments about whether or not he was pushed along when you have no idea if they are factual. It is also very obvious to most that I was simply speculating. truth is neither you or I know for sure. I was just more honest in my opinion.
