Huh?
ustajump was the only one who stated that Cheny should be rejected and be "allowed" to die.
@ ustajump are you a republican?
@ billvon. Quit sucking me in. You are a mean man!

Marks2065 was suggesting that a federal panel of physicians recommend what treatments are most appropriate so money isn't wasted with needless procedures.

Must be a different thread. I'll check it out.
eta: Marks2065 hasn't posted in 9 days so that doesn't have anything directly to do with the comments in this thread. No one "here" other than ustajump said any such thing, and I still don't know his party affiliation

Someone else, someone younger, did not get this heart. That person may well die as a result. Many eyebrows were raised about giving this heart to a 71 yo, though it should also be noted that he waited 20 months on the transplant list, so it doesn't appear that the normal queue was skipped.

what species do you think was the donor?
Whatever the species, I imagine the operating room still stinks of sulphur.

You too, Lisa.
As far as a corrupt, aged, former higher up, in a govt. that's out of control?"We hold these truths to be self-evident..." After far too many years of systemic abuse. They're all now guilty until proven innocent. I haven't even researched this. I don't need to. How many patients die every year waiting for such a transplant? I've seen cardiac patients post-transplant after 25+ years. How old is he? How many patients far younger than he were passed over w/that donor organ? Where did it come from? You think he actually paid for all of it? You think you'll actually find the truth to those last questions, Lisa? Lotsa Luck to you. All you'll find are more Washington lies.
If you're that well-informed about transplant surgery, then you know that the organ goes to the best match, not the most important patient.
I love you, Shannon and Jim.

Not exactly. The likelihood of success is also taken into account. For example, transplants are not given to good matches if they have other serious health problems. So while age is not in itself disqualifying, it is taken into account.

I have no issue with Cheney getting a transplant since he does appear to qualify. I doubt he jumped the queue.
An asshole transplant, on the other hand, would likely reject him.
