killler 2 #1 March 24, 2012 I'm looking for a plinking / target rifle.. The Sig Sauer sig522 target has caught my eye... Anyone own one? Some feed back would be helpful... I've got brownings, H&K's, Remingtons, so don't need 5.56 or 7.62... Just looking for fun "cheap to shoot" Thanks....Killler.. http://www.sigsauer.com/upFiles/catalog/product/522-Target-detail-hero.jpg
devildog 0 #2 March 24, 2012 Don't have a sig, but the last time I wanted another plinker that was fun to shoot I was thinking of going with a .22 mag and ended up with a .17HMR based off the strong recommendations by someone I know. Havent regretted it one bit. So, if you don't have one, I'd recommend getting one (Marlin 917 is a good line)You stop breathing for a few minutes and everyone jumps to conclusions. rrmtopo 1 #3 March 24, 2012 A couple shooting buddies use one of these to practice 3-gun, they seem to run like a champ. If you have an AR this will have the same feel. http://www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product4_750001_750051_765013_-1_757786_757784_757784_ProductDisplayErrorView_Y
Skyrad 0 #4 March 24, 2012 A friend has one, three thousand rounds through it and not one stoppage. Nice. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Lucius Annaeus Seneca
kelpdiver 2 #5 March 25, 2012 is anything cheap to shoot with a Sig? The ammo may be, but the guns themselves don't fit that category. (owner of 226 and 229)
killler 2 #6 March 25, 2012 Spending 500 to 700 bucks on a firearm is NOT that much really.... You get what you pay for... I've had my H&K 91a3 for 30+ yrs... It's just like new after many yrs of use... And it's worth at least twice what I paid ... The SIG sauer is in that class.... I'll pour 22 ammo thru it and then leave it to kids when I'm gone... I would dare to bet that my great grand kids will get to pour some thru it too....killler...

I have no regrets...abused my 226 for 4 days at Frontsight - 650 rounds without incident or cleaning.
