But when Santorum, while campaigning listens to a radical preacher, then we need to get upset because clearly he's being influenced. No, I just want you to realize that you have a double standard. By demonstrating your own?

Obama supporters have know about Jeremiah Wright for years and still supported him. So to now criticize Santorum becuse he simply listened to a nut job preacher while on the campaign trail pales in comparison. Nice try, though.

No, Santorum is criticized because he makes nut job preacher like proposals. Has Obama advanced Wright's agenda (what is it?) in his first 3+ years as President? If he hasn't yet, maybe it's time to SDSTFU about this association.

Santorum has publicly alligned himself with a fair number of the ideas put forward by this preacher. Obama had not done such a thing, yet his presence was used to show a supposed hidden agenda. kelpdiver 2 #61 March 20, 2012 QuoteDo you have some proof that this preacher influenced Santorum? who needs proof of this? they seem nicely aligned...so influenced, or birds of a feather...same difference. But you don't seem to be able to show any examples where Obama has enacted Wright's agenda. Israel is still an ally, and he took care of the puppermaster behind 9/11. Certainly hasn't gone after Whitey - he instead continued most Bush policies. Like many of the Obama boogeyman put out by the opposition in 2008, reality hasn't supported paranoia and/or racism. The obvious one - man of limited experience - did, but it wasn't just the Right that saw that problem. And yet the GOP can't see fit to supply us with a better choice and we still have the spectre (or horror or fun?) of Santorum as the nominee. If that happens, we're going to see some amazing bullshit as the party tries to sell him.

I know, right? ================ Conservatives Will Win Battle Against Homosexuality By Banning The Word "Gay" Since conservatives can't make homosexuals go away, they're trying a different tactic; By not using the word "gay" and forbidding talk of homosexuality in schools, they hope to reframe the issue. This weekend at The Awakening conference at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va., Ryan Sorba, chairman of the Young Conservatives of California, argued: "‘Gay' is a left-wing socio-political construct designed to create grounds for fundamental rights [based on] whimsical capricious desires ... Gay identity does not exist." According to The American Independent, Sorba suggested possible alternative terms for gay behavior, including, "Same-sex attraction," "Same-sex intercourse," "Sodomy," "Unnatural vice," or simply referring to homosexuals as "anti-Christian." ================== Santorum: 'If Elected, I Will Ban Pornography In The U.S.' Catherine Green | March 16, 2012 | 9:57 a.m. PDT GOP candidate Rick Santorum will make a war on pornography one of his top goals for the presidency, according to his website Friday. Yahoo News reported the former Pennsylvania senator said the country was suffering "a pandemic of harm from pornography." The report continues: "Pornography is toxic to marriages and relationships. It contributes to misogyny and violence against women. It is a contributing factor to prostitution and sex trafficking." The former Pennsylvania senator states that, "as a parent, I am concerned about the widespread distribution of illegal obscene pornography and its profound effects on our culture." Santorum criticized the Obama administration for turning "a blind eye ... to the scourge of pornography" and for refusing to enforce obscenity laws. "If elected President, I will appoint an Attorney General who will do so," Santorum writes. "While the Obama Department of Justice seems to favor pornographers over children and families, that will change under a Santorum Administration." Santorum is not the first presidential candidate to take up the obscenity issue. In July, Michele Bachmann signed a pledge vowing her support of a constitutional amendment that, among other things, called for a ban on all pornography. (It also effectively called for a ban on same-sex marriage.) =============================
Gravitymaster 0 #74 March 22, 2012 1. Non-sequitor for this discussion. 2. Non-sequitor to this discussion. However, a private University absolutely has the right to enact certain protocols. Would you have the same attitude if it they were banning "f*ggot, n*gger, k*ke, etc? Quite different that a government banning speech, don't you think? 3. Non-sequitor to this discussion. However, Santorums an ass and he is simply catering to a certain voter. He's not going to try and enact any laws regarding pornography for adults. billvon 3,132 #75 March 22, 2012 >Non-sequitor for this discussion. You're right. A conservative group trying to pass laws banning free speech has nothing to do with groups who "will try and pass a law banning free speech from the public airways." Next up - conservatives claim that the GOP's attacks on Obama have nothing to do with Obama.
