Game change premiers tonight on HBO, check your local listings.

I watched the preview episode the other night, not bad, I think the book was better on details and such, but I am sure HBO will do an overall decent job with the series.

Does anyone know where I can watch this (legally) without subscribing to HBO? I'd like to see it, but I otherwise don't have a need for HBO.

Maybe HULU? I do not know if they carry HBO or not. There is a HBO online I think.

I couldn't find anywhere to watch it. Hulu doesn't have it, and I don't want to subscribe to HBO online.

I did find this "comparison" thing on youtube though:

And man, I don't think Julianne Moore was right for that part. I don't know who could have played it better, but Moore is just too sweet and delicate to pull off Palin's tough exterior (IMHO).

Has anyone actually watched the film? Is it any good?

I only saw brief clips on the Jon Stewart show when she appeared. She didn't seem that out of place, certainly had the vocalisms right. I do have it recorded, but don't know when I'll actually view it.

It appears that their intent was to play her straight up as a small time politician that suddenly was thrust into a bigger light. Much more neutral than Tina Fey's fantastic knockoff.

I thought it was quite good and Julianne Moore pretty much becomes Palin. It's uncanny. It's not a hatchet job at all, she plays Palin fairly sympathetically. Also doing an incredibly uncanny impression is Ed Harris in the role of McCain. Absolutely spot on and makes me remember why I was thinking of voting for him before the Palin announcement. If Palin is played sympathetically, then McCain is played honorably and damn near heroically.

I should probably reserve my judgment until I see the whole film. Watching that "comparison" thing on youtube really showed the differences, but that's not a fair way to judge her portrayal.

Oh, and just to be clear: When I mentioned Palin's "tough exterior," that was not meant as an insult to her.

I think she would probably view that as a compliment.

I wonder why the majority of the McCain campaign says the movie is Factual?

I wonder why McCain has not claimed the facts are false?

I keep forgetting how smart you are.

OTOH, the book has been out for a while and I'm sure he has been told the highlights, seeing how he stated he will not watch it. He did state that he was disapointed in the movie and not sure where some of the qoutes came from; sounds like he got the gist of it.

Still no explaining away the campaign staff's comments.

So if he stated he would not watch it, why are you so surprised when he doesn't make a comment about it? You just contradicted yourself in the same paragraph.

You sure make a lot of assumptions. Have you seen the movie yet?

I have seen the movie twice.

So when the chief strategist for the campaign and palin's chief campaign advisor say the movie is factual, you dismiss it?

Show me where McCain says the movie and the book are lies

When schmidt stated the 10 weeks portrayed in the book was true, what was McCains respnse?
"I regret that he would make such a statement."

McCain knows better than to call him a liar.

Wow, where are you getting all this from. All I've said is that maybe McCain hasn't seen the movie yet. I haven't seen it nor do I particularly care to. If I'm home and it's on and zip have nothing better to do, then maybe I'll watch it.
