FYI - The ban applies to public institutions, which are deemed to be extensions of the state government, so the ban is deemed a governmental action. The implication is that private institutions can still ban guns on their campuses or buildings.

Private institutions can put signs up in Iowa too

However, there is no force of law behind doing that other than you can be asked to leave

I am but one of many people here who is concerned with gun rights. On my first page list of threads in this forum, out of 50 subjects, 9 of them are about guns, and only 3 of those were started by me.
