Whitney Houston's passing and buriel

Recommended Posts

Is it me, or does anyone else care about Whitney Houston's death & Burtiel. She was a fantastic vocalist & person. She had vices, like we all do. When your that rich, it doesn't make the vices go away.

RIP Whitney. I Love You.

The fuss is absurd. It's not as if she died saving kids from a burning building, or finding a cure for ebola, or protecting Afghan civilians from terrorist attack. Those are the folks we should honor, not washed up chemically enhanced entertainers.

Got my own problems ... don't need anyone else's (who I don't even know). Not that you lot care but I just can't get my fingers in the right position for the C13 chord I need ... yeah it's a biggy

This public outpouring of grief for so called celebs make zero sense to me.

Probably sad for her friends and family - otherwise [full stop]

Nope, don't care. Also, I am not pleased that Christie ordered the flag lowered to half mast.

I am a Ride Captain with the Patriot Guard Riders. We honor the heroes of our time. Houston does not even come close.

Yet, they still let go of the strut and arch.

Which is why getting high the first time is the mark of a moron.

Just out of curiosity, would any of these gentlemen meet your criteria? They are responsible for saving tens of millions of lives so far, millions more every year, and they didn't have to use a gun to do it.

Agreed that our cultural worship of "celebrities" is misplaced.

I think it is more of a mark of emotional disturbance and a sense of inadequacy.

Not sure of your point. However, the criteria for a PGR escort and or flagline is a request from the family for a deceased veteran or first responder.

Just curious if you considered those who put their lives and health on the line to fight diseases, working in the poorest and most dangerous areas of the world, to be "heroes" worthy of honor. Question answered, thanks.

His statement that PGR rolls at the request of the family answers your question about who he personally considers heroes?

You snipped an important, limiting constraint.

The actions of the PGR on request *regardless* of your additions, is applicable to whom Ron personally considers heroes *how*, exactly?

wow, that's about as useful as me accusing you of not considering fathers, working mothers, boy scouts, and teachers to be heroes

it's a pointless and obstructive strawman and you guys know it

frankly, words like "hero" are another example of total overuse by emotionally over the top weirdos
