>Calling 60 minutes news is a stretch given their history

Well, it's far more a news show than Bill O'Reilly's political opinion show.

Knowing 60 as we do
That is even a strech

all of which add up to perhaps 20M, and that's if you make the clearly false assumption that there are no duplicates. And we know that's not the case - the overlap of Stewart and Colbert viewers is going to be very high, and the broadcasts are sequential. The overlap for those 6 fox shows are also going to be considerable. I doubt the total is that much higher than the mere O'Reilly numbers. 4-5M?

As Bill notes, for entertainment shows they get killed by so many others. Personally I'd rather watch the Walking Dead than these Talking Dead.

***I'm not big on stations with lots of commentators.

I listen to Dave Ramsey (on the station "where conservatives find their voice") and the news (NPR) on radio, as well as "Car Talk" and "Wait Wait Don't Tell Me." On TV it's "Antiques Roadshow," "60 Minutes" and "Hawaii 5-O."

Personally, I think it's the "Antiques Roadshow" that makes me universally beloved

Here in socialist Canuckistan I have to pay extra for Fox News and well it's just not worth paying an extra $20 a month to the cable company for that station. Funny thing though on the evening of Monday February 13th not only did I not watch Fox, but I didn't watch any of these others either. I did spend 2 hours in front of the boob tube on Monday evening and I was watching two documentaries on the NFL Network. I watched a one hour documentary on "Sweetness" Walter Payton (arguably the best runningback to ever play the game). And the second hour was watching another documentary about former Eagles linemen "Reggie White and Jerome Brown". In a nation of well over 300,000,000 people having only 3,292,000 watching your TV show isn't something to be bragging about. In fact I wonder if more people were watching these two documentaries on the NFL Network.

PS: I didn't know Reggie White had passed away until last night. It was a bit of a shocker. But then I looked at the day he died "December 26th, 2004" and look back to what I was doing at the time "Skydiving at Eloy during one of their Christmas Boggies", and it can easily be understood why I missed the news story about Reggie's passing. RIP big fella. He was a monster on the football field, but a humanitarian off of it.

Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

That's probably not it ....I like A.R. ,too.:D

TV for me it's the local Fox News station, some ball games and a lot of the great PBS programming. Antenna only ..no satellite or cable. Sometimes shows like NCIS and Big Bang Theory and that's about it. Radio is a local all sports station, Ramsey once in a great while, local oldies station, and rarely talk radio. NPR gives me a headache.:P

It seems to me that concerned mature people in the U.S. want straight news or they want news satire.

The pseudo-intellectuals want news pablum.

Of course, that is my humble unbiased right wing conservative Christian opinion.

It looks to me like 100% of the people being accounted for wanted to be entertained. Claiming foxnews is "straight" doesn't make it so, and the fact that John Stewart was right in the middle of the fox news listings supports this. All I get from your list is people seem to find foxnews more entertaining than msnbc.

Truly depressing.

How so? As much as I hate American Idol, I do have to admit it's more entertaining than Bill O'Reilly or Sean Hannity. I've never heard of Bret Baier, so I'll just assume (according to the numbers) that he's worse than the other two.

The list was in the OP. It is not my list.
