And we know that's not the case - the overlap of Stewart and Colbert viewers is going to be very high, and the broadcasts are sequential. The overlap for those 6 fox shows are also going to be considerable. I doubt the total is that much higher than the mere O'Reilly numbers. 4-5M? As Bill notes, for entertainment shows they get killed by so many others. Personally I'd rather watch the Walking Dead than these Talking Dead.

wmw999 2,545 #30 February 15, 2012 ***I'm not big on stations with lots of commentators. I listen to Dave Ramsey (on the station "where conservatives find their voice") and the news (NPR) on radio, as well as "Car Talk" and "Wait Wait Don't Tell Me." On TV it's "Antiques Roadshow," "60 Minutes" and "Hawaii 5-O." Personally, I think it's the "Antiques Roadshow" that makes me universally beloved Wendy P. There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. Funny thing though on the evening of Monday February 13th not only did I not watch Fox, but I didn't watch any of these others either. I did spend 2 hours in front of the boob tube on Monday evening and I was watching two documentaries on the NFL Network. I watched a one hour documentary on "Sweetness" Walter Payton (arguably the best runningback to ever play the game). And the second hour was watching another documentary about former Eagles linemen "Reggie White and Jerome Brown". In a nation of well over 300,000,000 people having only 3,292,000 watching your TV show isn't something to be bragging about. In fact I wonder if more people were watching these two documentaries on the NFL Network. PS: I didn't know Reggie White had passed away until last night. It was a bit of a shocker. But then I looked at the day he died "December 26th, 2004" and look back to what I was doing at the time "Skydiving at Eloy during one of their Christmas Boggies", and it can easily be understood why I missed the news story about Reggie's passing. RIP big fella. He was a monster on the football field, but a humanitarian off of it. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
muff528 3 #32 February 16, 2012 Quote ..... Personally, I think it's the "Antiques Roadshow" that makes me universally beloved Wendy P. That's probably not it ....I like A.R. ,too.TV for me it's the local Fox News station, some ball games and a lot of the great PBS programming. Antenna only ..no satellite or cable. Sometimes shows like NCIS and Big Bang Theory and that's about it. Radio is a local all sports station, Ramsey once in a great while, local oldies station, and rarely talk radio. NPR gives me a headache.

It looks to me like 100% of the people being accounted for wanted to be entertained. Claiming foxnews is "straight" doesn't make it so, and the fact that John Stewart was right in the middle of the fox news listings supports this.
