wmw999 2,587 #1 January 30, 2012 I had two younger siblings; we slept in adjoining rooms (my brothers in one, me next door -- no hallway). We used to play a game called "you woke me up" after we went to bed. It consisted of one of us pretending noisily to be asleep (cue 6-year-old snoring impressions ), and the others trying to guess the one sound in the entire universe guaranteed to wake them up. Of course when it was the middle brother, he always chose the sound that neither of us could make (a repetetive t-t-t-t-t-t sound). But either way, it was really an exercise in "bring me a rock." It was an OK game for elementary-age schoolkids. The fact that the management game of "bring me a rock" is so derided now should be an indication of how stupid a game it is for adults. If you ask an open-ended question, expect open-ended answers. If you want to state something, just state it, and don't try to get others to say it for you, as though you backed them into a corner. Because you didn't if you did it that way. If you actually answer objections, and discuss them, then you might actually get people to examine their thinking.
