I don't see poking at Billvon on this when, other lefties are being direct about their bias already in the thread. This can be read in both a positive or negative light. 1 - to get on the news to demonstrate the TSA policies as being ridiculous - i.e., to make an honest stand 2 - to just get more press in general for the elections #1 *could* be possible, but I have problems seeing how it will make more of a point than he's already made in speeches. Regarding scenario #2, given that he was *just* sworn in to his latest term this month, I doubt it's a re-election bid issue.Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. billvon 3,132 #29 January 23, 2012 >>Unless of course this was a professor who is from a favored Obama university. >>Then there would be outrage from the WH >You are a mind reader now? More of a time traveler. He went forward in time a few times, found a time that a professor from a favored Obama university (whatever they are) was frisked and detained, and read about the outrage on Newsmax. Then came back here and posted. Yeah, it took him months to find it, slogging through future websites and whatnot. But since he could set his time machine to return only a minute after he left it looks like only a few minutes have elapsed to you and me. It's such complications of time travel that sometimes make posters here hard to understand. It's not a lack of grasp on the issues - rather, it's too _much_ understanding of the various time streams. After you've been to the ones where Obama is an alien terrorist predator with six arms and acid blood and Newt was really, well, a giant newt you can get confused. They're not looking for terrorists. (psssst! ...they probably don't really want to find one!) They're looking for "things". They've confiscated a lot of terror equipment and stuff. And how can you put a price on our safety and our protection from prell-wielding blue-hairs?

What do they DO with all that miscellaneous stuff they collect. Wouldn't be a hoot if they donated it all to Goodwill? My reality and yours are quite different. I think we're all Bozos on this bus. muff528 3 #35 January 24, 2012 Same thing the cops do with the gun "buy-back" programs ...divvy up all the good stuff and roll the cameras when they destroy all the crap that's left. Probably take it out in the desert and safely detonate it for maximum cinematographic effect.

I was planning a short trip to a friends house, and thought I would bring it along. TSA stopped me when and confiscated it. SkyDekker 1,465 #37 January 24, 2012 QuoteNot to come to Rand Paul's defense, but . . . I believe there is a law prohibiting members of Congress from being detained while en route to or from their home districts and DC. Actually it is not just a law, it is your constitution. Exceptions are Treason, Felony and Breach of the Peace. But it prohibits Arrest. One could argue that detaining and arresting are seperate concepts. I'm sure they enjoyed it tremendously. a grandfather ran into that situation driving into San Diego from Mexico. They wanted his booze. He either chugged it down, or more likely, poured it out on the road, in response. And in retaliation, they spent a couple hours tearing up his car looking for contraband. OTOH, the TSA can only spend so much time with their elbow up your ass, so it might be the right play depending on how long until your flight boards.
