masterrig 1 #1 January 15, 2012 Anyone watch it on NatGeo? It'll give you a whole different view of Red Necks. It's funny, too. I think, I screwed-up. This should be in BF! Chuck

That show is pretty interesting, educational and gives a whole nother view of folks from the South. In this case, Alabama. Chuck
popsjumper 2 #4 January 16, 2012 Don't tell me...shootin' bottle rockets out of butts. That's something one would do exactly once....unless you're a redneck. I vote Bonfire. How are you going to get a semi-serious/hate-crazed discussion out of a thread title like that? My reality and yours are quite different. I think we're all Bozos on this bus. How are you going to get a semi-serious/hate-crazed discussion out of a thread title like that? Silly me! I thought I'd try to lighten things up around here. No, they don't shoot bottle-rockets out of their butts! The one guy is a real rocket scientist and works in the aerospace industry in Huntsville, Alabama. His dad worked on the Appollo series. They have a couple friends they get together with and build stuff out of things found around the hous or hardware store. They do build rockets, submarines, jet powered boats... all kinds of stuff. There's a lot of humor thrown in but nothing really stupid. Check it out! Chuck
wmw999 2,589 #6 January 16, 2012 Let me take this one, Chuck Those of us in Houston know that the only reason why Huntsville was part of the space program was for the cheap land values, and the ready availability of brute labor. Any "rocket scientists" are either the descendants of imports (probably former Nazis after WW2 ), or else they're really just holy rollers who are machinists and other laborers who don't really contribute any brain power. Note: But at least I got Nazis, God, intellectual elitism all into a single post. No to mention a grammatically incorrect typoWendy P. There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. popsjumper 2 #8 January 16, 2012 I bow to the Queen of Posts. I still say they do the bottle rockets, though. Maybe they just don't put it on TV. Which raises the question: Why not? wmw999 2,589 #10 January 16, 2012 Well, since they do have experience with rockets, I'd say that if they do the bottle rockets thing, they probably have diapers made of this stuff. And who wants to be seen on Youtube wearing a diaper??? I find it interesting that a search in Youtube for "bottle rocket" has, as the second option, "bottle rocket in but." So I guess that the rocket surgeons looking for that particular bit of highbrow entertainment can't spell too gud, huh Wendy P. Chuck It's a pretty cool show! One or two of them are rocket scientists at NASA and live in the Decatur, AL area I think. Brilliant minds... I wouldn't mind trying their contraption where they built some kind of furnace and ran a hose to a generator, which then used the fumes to run itself and provide the trailer house with electricity. You burn whatever you have, yard waste, scrap wood, garbage, etc... kind of like Back To The Future when Doc comes back in a flying Delorean and rummages through the garbage to feed the motor... masterrig 1 #13 January 16, 2012 I saw that episode. Good stuff. Not to mis-lead but I might mention that beer and guns are occasionally used but just not together. Rog is not a rocket scientist but he is really smart. Brings a few laughs, too. 'Rocket City Rednecks' is educational, too. Chuck
