It's like putting women's panties over the enemy's head. Big deal. I couldn't even detect the urine flow in the video. Since the repeal of DADT, there are probably videos of U.S.Troops urinating on each other. One of the Marines understood the meaning of "Golden Showers." Back in the day, troops would often cut off an ear and attach it to their web gear after leaving a unit death card in the corpse's mouth. It's called combat and not everyone is cut out for it. Needless to say, some of the more gentle of my co-workers concluded that I was heartless, and that we should be there to help the poor Somalis. After the Blackhawk Down incident, the sentiment was that I was too timid by limiting action to conventional weaponry. It is a point well taken. Turning Mogadishu into a big parking lot would be a huge improvement. BSBD, Winsor
BoogeyMan 0 #10 January 12, 2012 Grow some hair on your balls, people..... War usually tends to get very nasty. There are loads of vids of the Taliban beheading people. Does that bump up ANA recruiting? Somebody, I'm sure can pull up pix of dead German civilians melted in to the streets of Dresden. Then someone else will post a pic of bodies at a SS camp. Then another..... Wars get B-A-D.

Marinus 0 #20 January 12, 2012 QuoteTurning Mogadishu into a big parking lot would be a huge improvement. It would have been much more practical, yes, but a bit counter productive to the original goal of the mission "protecting the good citizens of M." (If I remember it right.) Also there's some ethical issues surrounding nuking cities. But the whole point was that the desecration of the corpses of US soldiers caused a gigantic outrage too. When is a crazy person's excuse for finding piety valid? It's been explained to me, that the killing in Iraq had less to do with the US, than the differing factions competing for power in the country. As we see today, the killings continue unabated by much at all. I'm not an apologist for the Iraq or Afghanistan wars. But, since I have been to a war, I do dare to offer an opinion.
