winsor 236 #4 January 4, 2012 QuoteObama is a secret Muslim who was born in Kenya. The idea that he was born in Kenya is absurd. His mother was an 18 year-old who "married" (polygamous unions are null and void in this country) a Kenyan student, and neither of them were in any position to commute halfway around the world. Doing so in the late stages of pregnancy would be both pointless and a logistical nightmare. The "muslim" bit is more interesting. Obama still quotes the Koran easily, but that hardly makes him a follower of the Profit Muhammed (may he rot in hell). However, the fact that he has (likely disingenuously) claimed to be a muslim at one point or another, but now claims to be a christian (no doubt with an equal level of sincerity), makes him an apostate in accordance with sharia. The Koran is unequivocal regarding apostacy - the apostate is to be summarily put to death (for the record, I recommend no such thing). This is oddly reminiscent of Clinton trying to evade charges by claiming he was subject to the UCMJ, and thus exempt from civilian law. Had he done his homework, he would have found that his actions were strictly proscribed by the UCMJ, and that the likelihood of being summarily cashiered increases with rank (where a Seaman First Class would get an Article 15 at best, a Rear Admiral would be forced to retire). At any rate, the Race for the White House this year clearly demonstrates that you could turn over a rock and elect whatever crawls out. You have to really, really want elective office to put yourself out there for so much personal abuse. I mean that across the board. That's why, out of disgust, I eventually came to realize I'd lost most of my interest the election side of politics: it's all about fucking the other guy. Right up the ass. I agree with you Andy, running for elective office today does subject people to this type of gutter level ridicule. Of course it's done for the shock value which some people apparently thrive on. That doesn't make it any less offensive. There are reports that Obama is gay. Although less graphic than this trite, that I found offensive as well. I do try and remind myself, not always successfully, but try nevertheless, that however I much I may disagree with someone's politics, that they are still a real person, with a family and friends that love and care about them. I'm pretty sure many I disagree with politically would prove to be very interesting people to sit and chat with over my favorite beverage.

Please find a single post where I accuse obama of being a Muslim. And while you are at it, find one where I say he wasn't born in the U.S. since that's included in the preconceptions you constantly display about people you disagree with. Marinus 0 #11 January 4, 2012 Except, of course, that this wasn't politics. In short Santorum's blatant homophobia caused a homosexual non-politician to coin the term Sanctorum to describe "the mixture of lubricant and feces that is an occasional byproduct of anal intercourse". This use of the term was so succesfull that searching for sanctorum ranks the new "definition" of the word/name before the politician. And since S. compared homosexuality with inserting one's penis into a child, teen or animal, and thus indirectly compared gays with child-rapists, the bigot had it coming. If you piss all over a minority, people of that minority are entitled to piss all over you.

His problem wasn't running for office, it was comparing homosexuality to bestiality and pedophilia and in so doing, insulting a renowned homosexual personality (whom I'd consider better educated and more entertaining than, say, the crying crazy dude on the republican side, whatever his name is). Santorum probably shouldn't have done that. Blues, Dave"I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)

funjumper101 15 #20 January 4, 2012 The best possible thing that could happen to the 2012 election would be for Psycho Santorum to get the GOP nomination. The fact that his political positions are so far outside the mainstream for sane people means that Obama would have a cakewalk. He is totally opposed to all forms of contraception, even for married couples. That all by itself is enough to lose him the election. Unfortunately, that is why he'll never make it. Apparently Iowa Republican voters don't use the internet much. Sanctorum is so crazy that even a cursory look at his history should have made him a non-starter from the get go. It is a sad commentary on the extreme ignorance of the Republicans in Iowa.

Santorum probably shouldn't have done that. A big part of the problem is that Santorum was basically irrelevant, so it was easy to keep the special web page at #1. With the bump in popularity of his campaign, he's actually managed to bump the frothy reference down to #3. But it's hardly the only problem for Rick. He espouses a ban on all abortions, even for the cases of rape or severe threat to the woman's life, wants criminal charges against doctors, YET his wife had a second trimester abortion when her life was at risk.
