The Iranian Muslim who saved the Jews

Recommended Posts

Thought this was an interesting story. An Iranian Muslim diplomat in Paris during the second world war saved more than 2000 Jews from the Nazis. Even when stripped of his position he used his own inheritance to save more Jewish people.

Sardari never sought recognition for his work during his lifetime, insisting he had only been doing his duty. He died a lonely death in a bedsit in Croydon, south London, in 1981, after losing his ambassador's pension and Tehran properties in the Iranian revolution.

WOW!
This would make for a great movie!
Very sad but never the less a great movie!

Don't be coming in here with all your facts ... everyone KNOWS they're ALL baby eating terrorists who want to see the end of our peaceful nation:P

The FACT is, there are good and bad in every religion, race and ethnic group

To make your point you have to lump this into an all or nothing bucket

Very easy to see through if one pays attention

it will be because we destroyed ourselves."

There is no 'point' its a human interest story, the fact that you feel the need to have a 'all or nothing bucket' is typical of a limited ability to think in shades of grey. But thanks for your wisdom Buddah.

True

but I was not posting to the story was I

I was replying to his all or nothing characterization

YOURS was the all or nothing bucket

So maybe I should have just posted a whoosh

So you tell me then

He posted this

Quote

everyone KNOWS they're ALL baby eating terrorists who want to see the end of our peaceful nation

...which is what I replied to

You seem to think I missed what he was implying

So, if that is the case. tell me what I missed

Or is another insult easier?

you think this would work as a movie?

It's already been done. Therefore, yes.

Where? I would love to see it!

Fine, then why the need to involve religion? You don't like it when bad things are attributed to Islam. Does being Muslim really have that much significance to Sardari's actions.

You're just trying to dramatize the headline similar to "Muslims attacked Christians" rather than "Terrorists attacked America."

Maybe a better title would've been "Man saves fellow Iranians from the hands of the Christian Nazis.":P

:D

The movie "Schindler's List", based on a true story has more or less the same story line.

Yep, that's what I was referring to.

Hollywood loves remakes.

Schindler's List is this story?
No! I'll have to watch it again.

No, but it has similarities to it.
