Anvilbrother 0 #2 November 18, 2011 Yea tell me that when a politician gets an IPO and it makes him alot of money he is not expected to favor that company or industry later down the road. Even if someone manages his funds for him he can still give them inside info about future bills that affect a certain industry. Even without telling the manager to do anything directly they can drop hints that allow them to move their money in favor of future laws. Postes r made from an iPad or iPhone. Anvilbrother 0 #7 November 18, 2011 If they did anything illegal let them hang. Can't hate on a company that was capable of doing a specific task when it was needed. Can you go to a third world and put out 300 oil well fires, set up cities and feed troops in a war zone, build airports? The company was set up in the 1920'S and had enormous resources. Most of the contracts they one in an outright bid process. I agree it is a conflict of interest that he used to be CEO. Out of the 1 trillion the war has cost us halliburton has only gotten 17.2 billion. And the contracts were 13% over cost that's what 2.2 billion profit? Postes r made from an iPad or iPhone. Oh really???? http://www.businesspundit.com/the-25-most-vicious-iraq-war-profiteers/ The first name that comes to everyone’s mind here is Halliburton. According to MSN Money, Halliburton’s KBR, Inc. division bilked government agencies to the tune of $17.2 billion in Iraq war-related revenue from 2003-2006 alone. This is estimated to comprise a whopping one-fifth of KBR’s total revenue for the 2006 fiscal year. The massive payoff is said to have financed the construction and maintenance of military bases, oil field repairs, and various infrastructure rebuilding projects across the war-torn nation. This is just the latest in a long string of military/KBR wartime partnerships, thanks in no small part to Dick Cheney’s former role with the parent company. Want to guess how much of that was fraud????
Anvilbrother 0 #9 November 18, 2011 300 million...like I said and I will repeat it again. If anyone republican democrat whatever does illegal activities let them hang for the bad things they did, but you can't deny the company was a great help this nation when it was needed. There is fraud everywhere your just so butt hurt because it was bush and Cheney during their turn at the wheel. Massachusetts home winterization program for example. Got millions to run this program, and they employed 13 people and completed like 4 homes. Where did the money go? Postes r made from an iPad or iPhone. Nah.. not butt hurt over it.. but I do love pointing out the REAL reasons your heros Bush and Cheney.. got 5000 young Americans and many thousands more maimed... with thousands more who died over there and didn't even know it.... like the thousands from the Nam it happened to. Why??? So that they could enrich their buddies as well as increase their own family fortunes in war profiteering. Once upon a time war profiteers were shot for the scum that they were and are. Report shows fire extinguishers, smoke alarms were biled with 120-200% inflated cost. 90% of the homes failed inspection and in some cases were harmful to the occupants. 1 state 100 million I say 90 million in fraud. That's 1 state out of a 5 billion program. Cash for clunkers 3 billion Healthcare package 1 trillion Stimulus package 3.27 trillion Your very short sighted to think there will not be rampant fraud when you just chunk that kind of money out there with no reporting or accountability!
