wmw999 2,589 #1 November 5, 2011 I just read Margaret Truman's biography of her mother. I must say, her description of the political situation late 40's and early 50's sounds a whole lot like today. Gridlock, people more interested in defeating someone than in doing the right thing. We seem to have survived that. Maybe, just maybe, we'll make it through this period, too. From what I've read by people that have lived in both though - the polarization has never been even close to this bad.
