Thought I would never say this, but Regan was on to something when he cleaned up that tax code and brought about some serious leveling of the playing field. Clinton got all the rewards from it and Bush I had to pay for it...but man...hate to say it, an I'm a liberal, but we may need Regan back!Life through good thoughts, good words, and good deeds is necessary to ensure happiness and to keep chaos at bay. The only thing that falls from the sky is birdshit and fools!

billvon 3,120 #3 November 4, 2011 >Reagan is way to centrist to get the nomination , , , , Agreed. The Tea Party would crucify him. He added 60,000 GOVERNMENT JOBS to his government during his presidency! He raised taxes ELEVEN TIMES! He increased government spending by 69 percent and more than tripled the national debt, from $700 billion to $3 trillion. His greedy government fingers were stuck in the wallet of every American, and all he did was spend, spend, spend. And that's not all. While in California he signed an abortion rights law. He negotiated with terrorists, gave amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants and tried to disarm America. He's way too liberal for today's extremist Tea Partyers,
kelpdiver 2 #4 November 4, 2011 People here may be romanticizing Reagan a bit, forgetting a lot of history. Much like it was with Nixon in the past decade - somehow he transitioned from crooked asshole to noble statesman. Somehow Iran Contra or the bombing of Cambodia no longer matters? I can see this with Shah, but Bill should know better.
