Unfortunately true. "In God We Trust" has no place in our government. It's the hwole church v state thing.
Yes. It's also a cold war relic (note it was established in 1956) when we equated atheism with communism.
QuoteQuoteQuoteDamn...some people just wade right on out into the cesspool and never even realize they stink...even when you point it out to them.
So....does the headline mean that the religiophobes will Occupy Congress now?
You'd be the first to squeal like a stuck pig if it said "In Allah we trust". Understand the purpose of the Establishment Clause and try to respect the constitution.
Which one? The Establishment clause that refers to the establishment of a national religion, or the liberal interpretation that means 'any mention of God'?
You forgot the Establishment clause prefered by conservatives. You know, the one that is interpreted literally to mean establish. Endorsing, favoring and using as a basis for governmentt is ok, as is attempting to villify any religion that is not Christian.
Originally employed as a weapon of war, the hammer nowadays is used as a
kind of divining rod to locate the most expensive parts adjacent the
object we are trying to hit.

Nonsense. "In God We Trust" wasn't in any danger of being removed. Please show me any bill that has been proposed stating otherwise.
The resolution was simply a pandering move.
I like being pandered to. And to the poster

Luckily we haven't gotten that far, but we have had more than one president who prays to a magical fairy for guidance.
I take it you would be ok with the official motto to be "In The Flying Spaghetti Monster We Trust"?

Yeah, pretty much all of them... coming to a point, eventually?

Sure... motto doesn't have a thing to do with laws, anyway.
I love you, Shannon and Jim.
