Nonsense. "In God We Trust" wasn't in any danger of being removed. Please show me any bill that has been proposed stating otherwise.

The resolution was simply a pandering move.

Nonsense again. You said it wasn't a waste of time. The only way it wouldn't have been a waste of time would have been if it was in response to an actual threat of it being removed.

It would be like Congress passing a resolution stating that gravity was a law of physics.

Again, a total waste of time.

I never said that or agree with what you post either

Your mind reading is now failing you

BTW

Did you happen to notice the vote count?

Which only proves was a waste of time it was. Again, it was in no danger of being changed to begin with.

No, it proves that idiots still need to have messages sent to show they are wasting their time.

Which the vote does very well

On another note

The house has sent 18 bills to the Senate which are to help with the job mess

They are taking up none of them

Now, if you said the Senate Dems were a waste of time I would have agreed with you

Do you know how a filibuster in the Senate works?

Yep, but none of them get that far

Harry will not bring them to the floor

Do you know how that works?

Do you know that the bill has to be brought to the floor for debate before it can be filibustered?

Damn...some people just wade right on out into the cesspool and never even realize they stink...even when you point it out to them.

So....does the headline mean that the religiophobes will Occupy Congress now?
My reality and yours are quite different.
I think we're all Bozos on this bus.

I cannot understand why you would defend this waste of time. You seem more concerned than most folks with the efficiency of government, and this bill does absolutely, positively nothing of even miniscule use. Maybe if they appended "Anyone else pays cash" to the slogan it would be relevant.

Unfortunately true. "In God We Trust" has no place in our government. It's the hwole church v state thing.
Do you have any idea how much it irks me to agree with you, Quade? >:(

ANY time they spend not bending us over the chair is time well spent

But if anyone is concerned with the gov
then they should look at the Senate who is not even taking up many new bills sent to them by the House

Oh they do this stuff all the time

why pray tell is this one different?

The answer confirms it was not the biggest waste of time they have had

You'd be the first to squeal like a stuck pig if it said "In Allah we trust". Understand the purpose of the Establishment Clause and try to respect the constitution.

Which one? The Establishment clause that refers to the establishment of a national religion, or the liberal interpretation that means 'any mention of God'?

You forgot the Establishment clause prefered by conservatives. You know, the one that is interpreted literally to mean establish. Endorsing, favoring and using as a basis for governmentt is ok, as is attempting to villify any religion that is not Christian.

Luckily we haven't gotten that far, but we have had more than one president who prays to a magical fairy for guidance.
I take it you would be ok with the official motto to be "In The Flying Spaghetti Monster We Trust"?

Yeah, pretty much all of them... coming to a point, eventually?

Sure... motto doesn't have a thing to do with laws, anyway.
