normiss 898 #5 October 17, 2011 If we're going to go by the specifics of the act, he's late. It never mentions ANY troops in country either. Nor are troops in country specifically authorized by Congress. Next please.

It's worth reading up on. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lord%27s_Resistance_Army Imagine Jones Town with more weapons and pressing kids into doing their fighting for them. It's just fucking nuts. Both Congress and the President have been working on this for quite awhile. normiss 898 #7 October 17, 2011 I'm sure it is. Not like we don't need the $10mil ourselves. I'm a firm believer in cleaning my own porch before I worry about my neighbors. When will we figure out that arming those we favor only to allow them to grow in strength until they become our enemy is a bad fucking plan????

It's hardly an "invasion" when all the countries in the area approve. And Congress IS in the loop, see the Lord's Resistance Army Disarmament and Northern Uganda Recovery Act of 2009 Nice that this thread exposed so many bigots, though.... normiss 898 #11 October 17, 2011 I didn't interpret that act as authorizing troops in the country. I did see the "give them $10 million" part though. Buncha politico speak....nope, nothing about military involvement, military force, etc. Appeared to me to be the standard US approach of providing military type support to a government we choose to support. Like South Viet Nam, Colombia, Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, ad nauseum.
kallend 2,150 #12 October 17, 2011 You missed Saint Ronald REAGAN's real invasions of Panama and Granada. You know, where the affected governments did NOT want us there.... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.

This would not be a complaint about inaction or action of a moderator. That can get the post deleted without notice. (one of the other rules postings) I also don't dislike the rules. Complaining about the rules is also a deletable offense.-- Rob
