>It would seem you don't consider experience of any value. That's OK.

Experience is absolutely of value.

But when you are choosing a coach for some sporting endeavor, generally you are going to choose the one that wins a lot as opposed to one that loses a lot. That does not mean there is no value in learning from the people who lose; indeed, some may have great insights into the process, or may be great teachers.

But at the end of the day you want to be more like the guy who wins competitions than the guy who loses competitions - and thus the winners are generally more valuable as coaches than the losers.

So, you see marriage as a competition.

I see marriage as a partnership requiring wisdom to perfect and sustain. As everyone knows, wisdom comes from making bad decisions.

When people place their beliefs about who should be married on biblical teachings, then ignore the same teachings when it comes to their own marriage, I think it's hypocritical.

My first marriage ended because of sin and ignorance. I take full responsibility for its failure.

My second marriage was Christian based and I applied Biblical standards. My wife did not. She left because she did not like living in FL and moved back to CA.

My third marriage is Christian based and we both apply Biblical standards. We just celebrated 17 years together.

Am I a disqualified defender of Biblical marriage, in your opinion?

Well, considering that one of those "Commandment" thingies says not to commit adultery, and that elsewhere in the Bible (OT, not sure quite where) it says that while divorce is acceptable, remarriage is adulterous then yes, you, as an admitted adulterer (as defined Biblically) are disqualified as a "defender of Biblical marriage".

I disagree with your reasoning. Sin can and will be forgiven by Christ, assuming one is a true believer. One can defend and argue any position without believing that position to be true and accurate, study any politician or debate team.

The liberal media will say that Hank JR compared Obama to Hitler.

Looks more like he compared golf to the Holocaust.
Now, I'll grant: it is deadly to watch. But really now...

Right on! You and Glenn Beck are the only ones I've seen or heard today that understood the analogy.

>I see marriage as a partnership requiring wisdom to perfect and sustain.
>As everyone knows, wisdom comes from making bad decisions.

A man who spends his life making bad decisions cannot be called wise. A man who learns enough to make all (or even mostly) good decisions, on the other hand, is wise in any reasonable sense of the word.

Here in skydiving* we often cannot afford to make (and learn from) bad decisions, so we must learn from the mistakes of others. Thus there is a lot of utility to talking to people who have made mistakes. But there is even more to be learned from people who have systems that prevent them from making mistakes. For example, it is surely useful to talk to someone who has broken their femur three times while trying to swoop. It is even more useful to talk to someone who has learned a technique that does not require broken femurs to learn.

=============================
(* - and to head off your next erroneous assumption, no, I do not think marriage is a skydive.)

You are too far out in LEFT field now to continue.

More NT than OT.

From your link:

"It is our view that there are certain instances in which divorce and remarriage are permitted without the remarriage being considered adultery. These instances would include unrepentant adultery, physical abuse of spouse or children, and abandonment of a believing spouse by an unbelieving spouse."

Looks like Ron is in the clear according to your source.

On the second one, perhaps. But not the first.

But you won't let gays make these sorts of bad decisions and gain wisdom?

Sorry, 2 divorces makes you unqualified to deny them their rights, in my opinion.

You know, if you really believe that, and you really believe what you have posted about Obama, you have to admit that by your standards he's one of our wisest presidents - much more qualified than any republican candidate to make wise decisions.

So, when's he going to start making these wise decisions, pray tell?

The law determines their rights, I don't.

I was wondering why Hank Jr. is a dick.

It was announced in 2003 that he was being groomed for a presidential run, most likely by Soros and Ayers. How does that make him wise.

He is not a leader, period.

You have claimed that he's made a lot of bad decisions. You've also said that wisdom comes from making bad decisions. If followed those two statements lead to the logical conclusion that he is very wise.

Unless you want to change your mind about one of the above, of course.

Logic has nothing to do with it. BHO is not a leader.

One of your most honest admissions to date.

To my recollection, I have not made any dishonest admissions in this forum.
