Why wouldn't they have started this one?

Use your own logic.

We live in a time.
If the Big Bang starts time for a universe (and it does), then any Big Bang started by occupants of this universe creates a new one with it's own start of time (which obviously wouldn't be this one).

Getting Logic 101 out of the way . . .

Beyond that, your question supposes beings such as ourselves could ever start a Big Bang at all. I highly doubt it.

As easy(?!?) as it is to explain the Big Bang in terms of quantum mechanics, harnessing/controlling even a small fraction of that amount of the energy of a Big Bang is pretty ludicrous. Try to imagine the energy released by biting into a Wint-o-green Lifesaver compared to the giant black hole at the center of our galaxy. Even that is still infinitesimal in relationship between the black hole and the Big Bang.

Just a rough prediction on my part and you can call me on it if you can prove otherwise, but my prediction is that no beings in the universe could possibly come close.

Why would you think I care what his religious beliefs are? He's not the one posting images in the speakers forum, and I've never ever had him try to convince, or shove his religious beliefs down my or anyone else's throat ;)

Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. They only last for an instant but it is a Holy Instant. Let your soul absorb them.

Didn't you consider that I may have already thought of that??

Hello?

My point is that just because we perceive time as linear (from our very brief perspective) doesn't mean that it actually is.

It could be that we are caught up on a vast temporal Moebius Strip, punctuated by a single Big Bang.

Advancements in physics have revealed lots of really wild, mind-fucking things about the nature of space and time.

In an infinite universe, anything that is possible happens an infinite number of times. That would include Michelle Bachmann:(

If Adam and Eve were the first humans and evolution doesn't exsist, how can we have black, white, asian etc people?

Natural selection and random mutation occurs around us all the time but that's not the kind of change you need for scales to change to feathers, for example (molecules-to-man "evolution). No serious Creationist denies change. We just disagree with how far genetically it can take you. If you're a salesman, you can't lose money on every sale and expect to make it up in volume...no matter how long it takes.

To me, that's akin to saying "erosion and mass wasting occur around us all the time but that's not the kind of change you need to create the Grand Canyon, for example."

If you can get a chihuahua from a gray wolf in 10,000 years, you can get a chihuahua from a possum in 100,000, a chihuahua from a mouse in 1 million, a chihuahua from a lizard in 10 million, a chihuahua from a snake in 100 million, and a chihuahua from a a volvox in a billion.

The time lines are just staggering 250 MILLION years (since the start of the Triasic) is a jolly long time - loads can (and did) happen and not all of it written down!! in Aramaic:P

But as we can't comprehend numbers like that 'we' attribute the whole lot to a fairy story .. WTF?

That's a really bad example to use on Jay, he doesn't believe in the Grand Canyon either;)
