Trafficdiver 8 #51 October 2, 2011 Quote Quote Remember when we gave you half of your country back in 89', Actually, East Germany is/was about one third of Germany. And as far as I know, it wasn't given back to West Germany by the US of A. In fact, the US of A had little to do with the German reunification. It was a German effort. Without the billions of dollars in support the USA gave to West Germany to keep the USSR from crushing it, and the Netherlands as well, there would have been no reunification. We here in the old US of A don't have anyone to come and save our ass, so we'll hold on to our guns here just in case. And I never shoot my SIG after smoking pot,
JerseyShawn 0 #52 October 2, 2011 I have a medical card and a few guns. I've never committed a crime. Take away law abiding peoples guns, people will get them illegally and insure gun runners have a secure job. More crime/death via gun smugglers, more tax payers money spent on crime stemming from more pointless laws. Genius.

I think you're confused about a couple of things here. The Marshall Plan and everything that happened much later for instance. I won't mention the fact that the MP was also totally in the interest of the US of A because I'm genuinely thankful you and the British and the Canadians saved our ass. QuoteWe here in the old US of A don't have anyone to come and save our ass, so we'll hold on to our guns here just in case. First off, the USA isn't old. 235 years is next to nothing. Even my own POS modified swamp has more history to it. Second, you only exist because France decided to come to the rescue and save your ass.

What you're getting at is that the Marshall plan kept the USSR from invading Europe. So you're welcome What you're ignoring is the trillions of dollars we spent in an arms race with the USSR that eventually splintered the USSR, including it's funds and forces in East Germany. Haha, I only said old US of A in response to you saying US of A. The old part is just an expression here, I fully understand how young of a country we are. Furthermore I totally agree with you that France saved our ass, not only once, but several times throughout our history up to the Civil War. What you must concede is that in the last century though, we have grown further and created so much more than anything you or any of your neighboring European countries have done. And most of it was off of technology you started and we just copied and made more profitable. We were able to come from nothing, not even a fly in your POS swamp, to be able to save your entire continent throughout the second half of the 20th century. Why? Capitalism and Guns. Oh, I'm sure it's all connected, but you paint a picture that's a bit too one-dimensional, and shows only a couple of sides of the whole picture. The arms race surely played a role in the collapse of the USSR, but it was a bit more complicated then that. In the end the US didn't give E-G back to W-G unless you're a very creative historian. However on a relative scale we did rather well for ourselves. In many aspects we're better off then the US. And we're not the only Western European country that is just like that too. As for the Improved technology: I might be wrong about it, but a whole s***-load of technology-based stuff in my home isn't of American origin, so I think you're wrong there too. Because all European countries are kingdoms? But to be honest, I don't have a clue why we still have a royal family. Hereditary rule does seem to be a bit out of place, in our otherwise rather progressive country. Btw, the Monarchy is not even two centuries old, we used to be a republic before that. I think there's several reason why we still have a Royal Family. They were too cute to decapitate, they did a rather good job on average, they've hardly any political influence, we can afford them and there's simply bigger fish to fry. How did we end up here again? It started out with guns and dope, and now we're talking politics. Quick! someone should throw religion into the mix.
