>Yes.
Should your wife have been arrested for killing babies?

And no, I would not want someone making decision on their healthcare based upon the doctor's religious beliefs.
Are you trying to say that jaybird's wife has made medical decisions based on religious beliefs?
The king of the strawmen strikes again.
Yeah, we noticed that you showed back up.
Does the rubber and glue of your 3rd grade debating style help hold the straw together in your strawmen?
Clarifying a position via a question isn't a strawman argument - reading problems again, or just memory problems?
It doesn't take a cryptanalyst to know exactly what you meant, especially since you could just go back and reread the thread to see exactly what he HAD written instead of asking your strawman "question".

Actually, no - the way the statement was written, it could have been several different things - that's why I asked the question instead of ASSuming like you just did.
Maybe you should do some work on that telepathy machine, perfesser...the accuracy SUCKS.
I love you, Shannon and Jim.

QuoteMy wife has had to order and perform procedures which terminated the pregnancey for life of the mother issues. That's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about the majority of reasons which are mostly for reasons of convenience.
Wait a minute right there!
After all that ranting you did about "killing babies"????
You mean your wife approved of killing a baby? To save an adult?????????
And you think that's OK???????????????

I've made some very painful medical decisions in the past that caused a great deal of pain for all involved. It was the right thing to do.
I would also support a woman that wants to terminate her pregnancy. It's her decision. Not my womb, not my problem.

QuoteQuoteQuoteQuoteQuoteSticking your nose in a woman's uterus where it's none of your business seems pretty pornographic to me, but you seem to want to do it.
So, are you ok with child pornography?
.
What I am NOT OK with is your busybodying interest in the reproductive organs of other men's wives and partners.
That is a chicken shit answer.
If that is how you wish to describe your busybodying behavior, so be it.
Is that your "I know you are but what am I" response. How old are you?

She saved the mother. Otherwise, they both would have died.

Not only is it not your uterus, it's also not your baby...but it's still dead....unnecessarily.

See, we differ in our opinion.
Thanks for sharing.

Agreed. But surely she would have been arrested if she had killed adult patient A to save adult patient B, even if both were going to die anyway.
So again - should she be arrested for killing babies?

Depends on if adult patient A was attempting to murder adult patient B. She would be justified in killing one to prevent them from killing the other. Or if Patient B killed patient A in self-defense.
I'm kidding. Your comparison is terrible. adult patient A is not biologically dependent on patient B for its very survival. Unless they're siamese twins. No really...Billvon...back to reality. This is stupid. Is it a baby or not? If it is, then is it morally right to kill it unnessesarily?

>be justified in killing one to prevent them from killing the other.
Uh - no. If the cops brought in two patients, one of whom said he wanted to kill the other (and had tried) and she had killed him - she would be thrown in jail. Same in any case you can come up with.
But you think this case is different. You think that in some cases it IS OK to kill a baby based on the best judgment of the doctor and the mother. (I will give her the benefit of the doubt here and assume she also consulted with the mother before killing her baby.)
I (and most people) agree. It is NOT the same as killing a random patient, because there is the well being of the mother to consider. The two best people to decide that are always the mother and her doctor.
Let's hope you allow other people the same freedom you demand for your wife.

Wait a minute. Back to the three primary people here. Mom, baby and doctor.
Your A wants to kill B who may wind up killing C if A doesn't kill B.
Screw that. Dad walks in and shoots your wife AND his wife for wanting to kill his son.

OK...enough fun with this.
