AFF levels 2-4, weeks away!

Recommended Posts

Goin back for more on Sept.9
I’m wanna get all three jumps in that day!
Does anyone disagree with this? I feel confident about it, but the first AFF took its toll mentally. (think because I sat in class for 8hr.)
Does anyone have any suggestion for me to go over. I study the notes I made, and read almost every post. Just wanna be safe.
What will be expected on my day of jumping? I rather be prepared then, not know!
If you have anything, please feel free to post!
Thanks,

At this point in your career, I'd suggest more review of your notes and less reading of DZ.com. IMHO, too much DZ.com at this point can only confuse things and drown out what your instructors want you to learn (and the pace and order in which they want you to learn things.)

If you really want to read something, read your SIM. Can't read that too many times, I think.:)
As for whether you can do three jumps - that's between you and your instructors. It's certainly not unheard of, but I'd say keep an eye on how you're feeling and don't be afraid to reassess after each jump. Stay hydrated and have some good snacks throughout the day to make sure you keep your energy up and stay sharp.

thanks, do you also suggest the same for watching videos? (skydivingmovies.com)
i grew up playing football and video are everyones friend you can learn alot from video!

Don't get me wrong; you can learn plenty from reading dropzone.com and from watching videos (even if it's just learning what *not* to do sometimes :D). It's just that if you want to learn specifically to prepare for your next jumps and if you want to read stuff to help you succeed in your student program and get to an A, the most valuable stuff will be the structured stuff - your FJC notes, the SIM, any training materials your DZ gives out. DZ.com and Skydivingmovies are fun and useful... but can be overwhelming.

Oh, and check this out - it's a flash animation of what to expect on AFF jumps. Disclaimer: this is how Skydive Elsinore does AFF; every DZ is a little different, so your experience may not be identical, but it's cool to get a general idea of what's coming up.

Yea, you can probably do 3 AFF jumps in a day. Just make sure to focus on each jump (as they are kinda tedious). No reason to fail the current level cause you are worried about a future one!

And I also watched a lot of movieson skydivingmovies.com. Mainly the exits just to get them smoother. And (call me crazy), I watched a ton of malfunction videos. Why? To get my confidence built up in my equipment. And, watching people get out of line twists, or cut-aways from spinners really boosted my confindence level.

But, NWFlyer is right, don't get an information overload. You have plenty to focus on during you AFF. And good luck on that! BTW, level 4 is super fun...just jumping with one instructor is pretty sweet!:)

it sounds about right, i also watched evey malfunction video, just to see how they reacted in different situations. pretty much everything you said.
it kinda different in a way for me, my heart rate and blood pressure skyrocket when i watch any skydiving video, more than when im standing in the doorway. can't explain it, videos just gets me goin in uh hurry!
thanks for the support! i can't wait!!

Watching videos on the internet is fun. But keep it at that. Don't watch the videos to learn at this point, just to get you psyched up and feeling awesome about skydiving.
