fossg 0 #26 September 24, 2011 If the book is false she should sue for libel. However if the allegations are true I wish she would slink off the stage. There is nothing that pisses me off more than some one who puts them self out there as a "leader of moral and ethical behavior" who turns out to be neither, ala Newt Gingrich. (Don't get me going on that piece of crap..)

Would be a media mega-circus. Could you imagine the weeks of cable news coverage, discussing the facts of the case (drug use, sexual infidelity)? I wouldn't think Sarah wants that (but then again, you never know). On the other hand, you can bet McGinniss is crossing his fingers that she does sue him. It would put his book sales through the roof.

He would need the income to pay the judgement against him, which would ultimately just make Sarah rich, and the author disgraced - a win for Sarah! In America, they're pretty much SOL. Just think about past lies told about Presidential contenders, like the swift boat travesties against Kerry. Or that McCain was a sleeper agent for the VC. Palin will let this one go, because the more attention she gives to it, the longer it will stay in the press. I think it's accurate to say that the press gleefully overtold the story to make her look bad. But no one is taking it seriously and it will quickly fade from view. Rick Santorum, otoh, he's just fucked. Nothing he does will solve his google problem.
