DaVinci 0 #10 September 20, 2011 Quoteweird. the article didn't mention the word GUN a single time. No, but gun ownership did increase last year. The number of States that granted the right to carry went up as well. So, you may not be able to say the increase in guns and gun rights was responsible for the drop in crime.... But you can say that the increase in guns and gun rights didn't increase crime at all. Higher number of guns clearly didn't increase the crime rates. JohnRich 4 #11 September 20, 2011 Quoteweird. the article didn't mention the word GUN a single time... Here you go - this report shows new firearm imports, by type and year. Note that these are only imports, not counting domestically made firearms, and are in addition to the supply already purchased in the past, and that firearms are quite durable goods which don't readily wear out like cars or refrigerators. "More guns" from year to year is a given. Firearm Import Data: http://nssf.org/bulletpoints/links/091911.cfm If you've got some theory to support the idea that the total number of guns in circulation is decreasing, then post it. freethefly 6 #12 September 24, 2011 More clean diesel automobiles, less crime!!!!!!!!! Damn good chance that clean diesel is responsible for less crime. Or it may be that more cheap t-shirt sales at Walmart is responsible. My money is on the clean diesel. http://dealer-communications.com/news/u-s-clean-diesel-automobile-sales-are-up-37-over-2010/"...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." JohnRich 4 #13 September 25, 2011 QuoteMore clean diesel automobiles, less crime! I didn't realize that there were politicians and organizations trying to restrict clean diesel automobiles using crime as an excuse. Well, at least if someone ever does, you'll be ready for 'em, and you can use this correlation to prove that more clean diesel cars does NOT cause more crime. Just as more guns amidst the population does NOT create more crime.

SkyDekker 1,465 #15 September 26, 2011 Its more like: More Executions, More Murders. Maybe if they used guns to do the executions it would reduce the murder rate. What do you think JR?
