QuoteIt's a bitter pill to swallow for the GOP. Bush, the man who let Osama kill 3000 Americans, vs. Obama, the man who killed him. They'd love to even up that score a little. For the sake of all Americans, let's hope they do not get their wish.
Damn, we need to hook you up to a dynamo - we'd never need to burn another barrel of oil.

QuoteQuoteQuoteQuoteIt's funny how the Murdoch media are criticizing Obama's approach to Libya.
Overthrowing Saddam - thousands of US dead, a $trillion or more spent.
Overthrowing Quaddafi - no US dead, minor expenditures.
Seems like Obama is a far better strategist than GWB.
Yes, because the two situations are EXACTLY the same.
Another lame-ass mnealtx excuse.
Murderous dictators in oil-rich Arab lands overthrown.
The biggest difference is $hundreds of billions and thousands of US dead different, and no POTUS claiming "Mission Accomplished".
I can see why it pisses you off.
More weaseling from kallend.
I can certainly see why the contrast pisses you off.

QuoteQuoteQuoteQuote>Only 2 or 3 more to go and he'll catch up to Obama.
And if Obama lets a terrorist attack happen within the US that results in 3000 dead, he'll catch up to Bush.
If something like 911 ever happened under Obama, at least half of the Republican party would be outside the White House with pitchforks and torches. (and the truth be told, probably a couple of nooses.)
They say their may be a sharp drop in oil prices with the end of the conflict. Great for our Country, not so great for Republicans and big oil.
Speaking of 'outside the White House'...whatever happened to Cindy Sheehan?
She has a new hobby.

Certainly not on the GOP side; they are praying for it. Santorum hoping for an attack in 2007:
"...between now and November, a lot of things are going to happen, and I believe that by this time next year, the American public's going to have a very different view of this war, and it will be because, I think, of some unfortunate events, that like we're seeing unfold in the UK."
GOP Chairman Dennis Milligan citing the "need" for another 9/11 to guarantee GOP support:
"At the end of the day, I believe fully the president is doing the right thing, and I think all we need is some attacks on American soil like we had on September 11th, and the naysayers will come around very quickly to appreciate not only the commitment for President Bush, but the sacrifice that has been made by men and women to protect this country."
Michael Scheuer, Republican commentator, on FOX, 2009:
"The only chance we have as a country right now is for Osama bin Laden to deploy and detonate a major weapon in the United States. Because it's going to take a grass-roots, bottom-up pressure. Because these politicians prize their office, prize the praise of the media and the Europeans. It's an absurd situation again. Only Osama can execute an attack which will force Americans to demand that their government protect them effectively, consistently, and with as much violence as necessary."
