English is the official language of 54 countries - how many countries have Swiss as the official language?

Between English and smatterings of Spanish I've got coverage of two of the top 3 languages of the world - Mandarin Chinese is the third one.

Is there a really a "wrong" spelling of "Al Kayduh" since it's pretty much a phonetic approximation of an Arabic name? Maybe there is a "correct" conventional western spelling. Maybe not. I dunno.

He spelled it two different ways in the poll. Maybe knowing all of those languages got him confused.

Reading comprehension is your friend - I didn't say I knew Mandarin Chinese, I said Mandarin Chinese is the other language in the top 3 worldwide along with English and Spanish.

how many languages do you know, besides (american)-english and imasofullofamyself!? :)

Just American English and that one not as well as I would like. You missed the point entirely.
6 languages? My hat is off to you, Master Jedi.

I do know a few foreign words, though:
taco
schnitzel
blood pudding
haggis

Damn. Now I don't know if I'm hungry or on the verge of being sick.
[:/]

Oh, and BTW, yes, imasofullofamyself is true in your case.
My reality and yours are quite different.

so far, the religious nutters win, i'm glad..

seems there are some sensitive americans still alive which havent been burnt at the stakes, as of yet.. :)

So, you're going to burn the religious nutters at the stake, along with silencing the people you don't think should have a right to speak?

Nice.

I'd consider religious nutters and Al-Quaeda to be the same.

I'm assuming by 'nutters' you mean extremists who actually pose a threat versus the (physically) harmless assholes. Kind of like the Mormons who line up in front of my old high school with posters of 7-8 month old aborted fetuses and who taunt the young girls going into the clinic on the anniversary of Roe V Wade

Dr David Gunn's family would disagree with you. he was NOT murdered by Mormons, i know that but i think you could have found a better example to use to show non violent protest. Anti abortion activist have used terrorism.

The ten-year anniversary of 9/11/01 is coming very soon. Terrorists would love to hit us again on that date to let us know that they're still out there and still a threat to us. So I find it amazing with that great danger lurking near, that people here fear religious people more than terrorists. I think you folks have some seriously misplaced priorities.

Name one terrorist group that is not religion based. Not all religous nutters are terrorists, but the opposite can't be said.

apparently we'll be subjected to a Matt Damon movie (Contagion) playing off that fear as well.

I think you should target the particular religious groups that are known for carrying out repeated terrorist attacks, and not lump in all other religious groups with them.

How many Americans have been killed by Al Queda/Taliban/etc. in the last 10 years?
How many Americans have been killed by Christian groups in that same time period?

From Wiki
McVeigh was a registered Republican when he lived in Buffalo, New York in the 1980s, and had a membership in the National Rifle Association while in the military.[84]

McVeigh was raised Roman Catholic.[85] During his childhood, he and his father attended Mass regularly.[86] McVeigh was confirmed at the Good Shepherd Church in Pendleton, New York, in 1985.[87] In a 1996 interview, McVeigh professed belief in "a God", although he said he had "sort of lost touch with" Catholicism and "I never really picked it up, however I do maintain core beliefs."[85] In the 2001 book American Terrorist, McVeigh stated that he did not believe in Hell and that science is his religion.[88][89] In June, 2001, a day before the execution, McVeigh wrote a letter to the Buffalo News identifying as agnostic.[90] Before his execution, McVeigh took the Catholic sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick.[91]
