*ok for those that have lived in 3rd world countries*
While having a drink with a friend who has lived in central America he said something interesting.
Every day that has gone by since the TARP I see the US slipping closer and closer to what banks big and small do in South America. Who the hell do these banks think they are dealing with? Last I checked at any given moment and time we could simply mobilize the army have them walk down to NYC and politely at gun point evict every single banker from his or her office, take their keys to their homes and their cars and boats, strip them of their rights and offer them a one way ticket to a nice country such as Russia or China.
But let's face it, that will never happen, they can treat us like Panama because let's face it just like Panama our elected officials no longer work for "us".
Well hate to say it but I think he's right. I use to live in Bolivia and the year and a half I was there 3 major banks went under all of which had close ties with the local political figures who did rather well. Then there were the World Bank regulations regarding debt. It was nutty! People had no faith in their government nor their financial institutions as such unemployment was very high.
I hope that doesn't happen here. After all without "us" who would the banks rely on to create wealth? Each other?
Life through good thoughts, good words, and good deeds is necessary to ensure happiness and to keep chaos at bay.
The only thing that falls from the sky is birdshit and fools!
