Rick Perry's Army of God

I can't even agree to this because there are some things employers seek during background checks that are illegal invasions of privacy.

I gave it more thought and came to this conclusion.

Let's just stick to what is legally required by the US Constitution. It is, after all, the law of the land.

Can't argue with that.

Huffpo is pulling out all the stops in the court of public opinion, aren't they?

You're kinda mixing up your metaphor there. You say that as if there's a legal court Perry should be getting tried in. ;)

It's not exactly unused in other venues, Paul.

But pretty much always with respect to the person being "tried" via the media as opposed to in court or congress or some other official proceeding.

The ONLY thing that matters in the election IS public opinion. That is it. There IS no other "court."

You don't have to take my word for it;

Yes, Paul...I already know that.... and the libs are doing everything they can to influence public opinion before the man has even declared.

Heh, so are you willing to bet me that he's NOT going to declare?

I put up a dollar, you put up a dollar and if he declares I get the pot and if he doesn't then you do?

Because to me it's looking like it's a sure bet he's going to. Nobody does that much sound and fury if they think it signifies nothing.

If you actually ever do any research, you would know that Perry is running.
Research is your friend. Try it sometime.

AUSTIN, Texas - Governor Rick Perry is running for president, a spokesman confirmed yesterday, a move certain to shake up the race for the GOP nomination, much to the delight of many conservatives looking for a candidate to embrace.

So do the Christians here want Perry to run to get their vote? Or are there others in the race you like better? Does this eliminate Romney because he is a Mormon?

Just curious?

I like Ron Paul. I don't know what the Christians want.

Jesus, dammit...we want Jesus.

What's it been, like 2000 years?

Revelation 6:10
They cried out with a loud voice, "O Sovereign Lord, holy and true, how long before you will judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?"
Your secrets are the true reflection of who you really are...

Amen. We have this coming presidential election then we have to deal with the anti-Christ and the destruction of the Temple.

Even so, come Lord Jesus.

Wait, what? Are you saying that all we have to do to stop the end of the world from happening is NOT have the election?

Wow, we should almost do that then.

Wow. The anti-christ will wait until the next election is over? Must be a kind guy, then?

Which temple is meant to be destructed, where will that happen? On US soil .... or on a European lawn? :o

For you and Quade, it is the prophetic order of things.

The Temple will be in Jerusalem. It's construction is a long way off at this point.

Oh! SciFi . . . cool.

I thought you might be talking about the real world for a minute.

Come on man, kallend and Winsor are going to great lengths to prove that science has no part in these discussions.

Or, were you back on Scientology again? That is SciFi.

The writer of Revalations was refering to the destrucion of the temple by Rome in the first century, with the kid then making his second appearance.

You guys missed the boat.

BTW: Here is a link representing some of the liberal Christians' viewpoint of Rick Perry.

By aligning with John Hagee, Perry seems to signal that he is not hearing the voices of the evangelical Christians in the Palestinian Territories who are deeply damaged by Hagee’s organizations and advocacy of US policies that do not support Palestinians as well as Israelis.

I mentioned it earlier of who Perry is aligning himself with (of course Mike Neal called it bullshit, well Mike, theres more proof.) Hagee is a preacher of hate and an advocate of Radical Christian take over of the U.S. government. I can only imagine that the government keeps a close eye on him.

It is refreshing to see that not every Christian has wool over his/her eyes and a credit card in hand to buy the hate books of those Perry is siding with.

I think that those within the Republican party will do more to bring Perry down, than those in the Democratic party will.

Thanks for posting that.

You are welcome but, please understand, I posted that reference so that folks realize you cannot paint all Christians with the same brush. We have our disagreements without our own house.

Evangelicals for Social Action is a very liberal group.

I do not support their political stance.

I have heard John Hagee speak in strong support of Israel and the Jews. To claim that he is antisemitic is false.

Also, I do not believe that he supports the Christian takeover of the U.S. Government.

"The movement in its modern form was founded in the United States of America, popularized by Rousas John Rushdoony, in his work The Institutes of Biblical Law (1973),...."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_Reconstructionism

Rushdoony's work is extremely right wing and unconstitutional. It is food for thought only. No sound thinking Christian American could advocate its application in our system of government.

Generally speaking, Christians advocate the application of Scriptural principles in government, business, education, family and the church. Anyone who believes there is only one set of rules for that application is woefully naive.

Yeah, you know how those prayer meetings go....you pledge yourself to support them/their church forever. Lemme know when you decide to apply the same standard to Obama's 20 years at Trinity United.

I noticed you didn't have much to say about that 'put religion in charge of government' speech and prayer of Perry's....why's that, I wonder?
