The most common reply by a landslide was typically something to do with Bush. Apparently they didnt know he wasnt running. I think you're right, there is probably going to be similar reasoning in 2012 though most likely a smaller degree of it.

well, like Stallone with Rocky V and the even more recent Rocky, he certainly will try to frame the election that way.

The question is will the GOP help him out by nominating something even worse than McCain (eh, ok, if grumpy) and Palin (wtf? Makes Quayle look distinguished).

The GOP usually obliges. I'll just be glad for the liberals to find a new target for their hatred 'cause they need some new material. And I think it will be good for them to exercise their imagination a little more.
