He is certainly right about one thing though, if the USA did not come to an agreement and had defaulted it would have been very bad news for the rest of the global economy. I think the the US politicians have been so wrapped up in introspective bipartisan point scoring that they've screwed up. The world has has a glimpse of the future, after this I believe that we will see mass diversification away from the dollar and US bonds.
