Amazon 7 #26 July 25, 2011 QuoteQuote they are being systematically destroyed by the current crop of robber barons In 25 years of union membership, my experience has been that the unions are systematically destroying themselves, just like the rest of middle class America. Their effort, like yours, in assigning blame and vilifying others has not been productive. But good luck with that "hate thing" you got goin' on there--you're really pretty good at it. MMMM Red KOOLAID.....MMMM You are not really keeping up with the reality of what has happened to American workers for the last 30 years have you. In terms of real dollars... they have decreased in purchasing power... yet the 2% at the top have raked it in far more than at any point in our countrys history in terms of REAL wealth. Personally I have no use for unions, I was in one for about 3 months on my first job after high school as a member of the IBEW working for Western Electric. The union decided to go on strike and I voted no since I was new and would derive no benefit during the strike and I needed to actually pay my bills. I was making $2.95 per hour and even after they were out for weeks... my pay would have jumped to a whopping $3.00 an hour. I bailed.. and went and got another job and have never been in one since. I do believe in the right of workers to band together though to better their working conditions as well as benefits and pay. There is a stasis point where the workers can make a living wage... and where management and owners make a viable profit from their investments. At this time... the balance scales are far too heavily weighted in favor of those at the very top no matter how much they might bitch about not getting enough profit. The statistics do not lie. The middle class is going down in flames... and no its not their fault as much as it is those who are so anti-american but support the corporate structure without question which means profit above all else and damn the country.. and our people. I agree. OK there's been some thread drift . My point is that the mainstream Republican And Democrat candidates can't be chracterized as completely socialist or anti-socialism.
