jclalor 12 #1 July 19, 2011 Some want to bitch about making the rich pay more in taxes. I want my federal tax dollars staying in California. Why should all the blue states have there money going to support the shiftless and lazy red states. The flyover states have been suckling at the Federal teat for way too long. I wonder why the blue states have to bail out the red states year in and year out. http://taxprof.typepad.com/taxprof_blog/2004/09/red_states_feed.html

captain_stan 0 #6 July 21, 2011 QuoteI wonder why the blue states have to bail out the red states year in and year out. Because they keep electing blue politicians who continually expand the federal government's tax-and-spend redistribution system and never seem to realize that bigger government = more opportunity for abuse. QuoteI want my federal tax dollars staying in California Good luck with that. It would serve you better if the feds never got their hands on this in the first place. In a more wasteful and corrupt manner, they are only duplicating many services that could be performed by states. Quoteshiftless and lazy red states Or maybe they're just smart enough to make the best of a corrupt system that's imposed on them. And no, I'm not a Republican or a Democrat. rehmwa 2 #7 July 21, 2011 QuoteI want my federal tax dollars staying in California. you realize that's a contradiction - if you want the money to stay where it is and not be redistributed, then it shouldn't be taxed at all moving it from fed to state, and then state to local, and then just keeping it yourself and spending how YOU see fit.............. welcome to fiscal conservatism - a position neither of the current parties advocate ... Driving is a one dimensional activity - a monkey can do it - being proud of your driving abilities is like being proud of being able to put on pants

What facts would those be? 1) Reagan allowed the financial sector to deregulate. 2) Clinton allowed this deregulation to escalate. 3) The shit hit the fan under GWB's watch. 4) Obama has done nothing, I repeat nothing to change things. those facts? Or were you referring to George Orwell's infamous vision of the world? I think Georgie Boy was a few decades ahead of his time. Not that he was wrong, but things still are not quite as bad as he envisioned them to be, 3 decades after Orwell said they would happen. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

CanuckInUSA 0 #13 July 22, 2011 I acknowledge the Orwell reference was out there in the stratosphere. Thought I would stir the pot a little. Just like you yesterday when you went on your rant about charging the US government $1 tax for every bullet they fire in their wars. By the way, how is that war in Libya treating you these days? Funny how you turn a blind eye when your messiah, your Nobel Peace Prize winning savior of the world orders air strikes and cruise missile strikes. How much should a cruise missile be taxed just like the bullets you want to tax? You weren't referring to taxing the public, you were referring to taxing the government. LOL government taxing itself for bullets it fires in a war. My reading comprehension issues pale in comparison to the rose colored tax happy world you obviously want. BTW ... to somehow bring this thread back on topic, funny how things work. Up here in Canada the "have" provinces who pay for Canada's socialism tend to be Conservative leaning provinces and the "have-not" provinces are perpetual socialist cess pools who can never balance their books. Of course if I was to ever bring up the topic like the OP did where out "have" provinces should stop funding the socialism "have-not" provinces demand. All hell would break loose. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
