Sorry, were you actually trying to say something? all I heard was..."bullshit...Christianity, Blah blah blah - *crazy face*"

If you'd like to try again, please articulate your inquiry calmly and coherently so I can understand what you're talking about and maybe I'd be so obliged to reply in kind...but your posting history tells me you're not here for understanding, so please...don't gimme that crap.

Some things are attributed simply to the fact that we live in an imperfect world tainted by sin in which bad things happen. God causes some things to occur. God allows other things to happen. Either way, God is holy, just, trustworthy, and sovereign. I attribute my son's recovery as well as his sickness to God's Providence. I know God will take care of my son in life or in death. Was there a reason for his sickness? I think so but I'm not certain. I know it greatly strengthened my faith as well as my wife and her mother. And my son understands also. I think his experience will be instrumental in his own faith and walk through life. Bottom line....no matter what happens in life....God is good....all the time. If my son had died, God is still good and worthy of praise. He will see my son till the end.

Ok, that made no logical sense at all.

God allowed/caused your kid to be sick then
God cured your kid of the sickness

so your reponse boils down to no matter what god does be it something good or bad, "God is holy, just, trustworthy, and sovereign".

In other word don't question God!

Sounds like a brainwashed response to me.

With so many different takes on Christianity I still don't see how his is any less valid then yours or anyone else's.

At least Protestants, Catholics, Jehovah Witness', Mormons agree more than they disagree.

Probably explains the burnings at the stake, torture during the Inquisition, Mormon massacre of "gentiles" in 1857, etc.

I doubt it...These types of incidents primarily seem to be the cause of evil men using religion as an excuse to fullfill their selfish desires.

1 Timothy 6:4-10
he is puffed up with conceit and understands nothing. He has an unhealthy craving for controversy and for quarrels about words, which produce envy, dissension, slander, evil suspicions, and constant friction among people who are depraved in mind and deprived of the truth, imagining that godliness is a means of gain. Now there is great gain in godliness with contentment, for we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world. But if we have food and clothing, with these we will be content. But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs.

To say that you use circular logic would be to imply that you use anything resembling logic.

That does not even rise to the level of Argumentum ad Ignorantiam.

Oh, the same lame old excuse as always for bad behavior by Christians. Your religion has been and still is responsible for a great deal of evil despite your self-serving piety.

I'm still waiting for an answer to my questions. Are you just refusing to answer, or do you not have an answer?

I posted this several pages back.
The questions are in bold type.

You stated that you believe that God intervened and saved your child. Giving the enormous amount of suffering in Africa that is, only now, in the headlines, the vast number of children that are dying from starvation, with no end or hope in sight. Why do you feel that a God would see your child as more important to save than the thousands who are dying of starvation? How about the large number of children who have suffered over the many years the world over? Are all of these children less important than yours in your God's eyes?

Making individual people responsible for their actions does not absolve a system that perpetuates and encourages devisiveness and violence against others. They are not mutually exclusive.:)

I have some questions. Why do you ask questions that you think you already know the answer? Why do you ask questions that you reject any answers given, before the person answering even has a chance to speak? Since all you have to offer is enlightened despair, why do people who have the Truth and hope annoy you so much?

Not only do you not have one shred of objective evidence for the existence of your god, but in the highly improbable case that it actually exists, it is a nasty, cruel, uncaring being. I show more care for the well being of the fish in my fish tank than your god shows for humanity.

Not even close. The question is not difficult but it is an obvious attempt at baiting. As any atheists will tell you, this world and everything in it evolves and changes according to the preexisting, well defined laws of physics. Life on this planet is a very violent process of survival. God calls us in the midst of the chaos and evil to cleanse ourselves through His Son. God is without defect and call us to be like Him. We all have intrinsic value in the Eyes of God, no one is more important than the other.

Prove it.

I don't believe you.

Prove your God even exists!

Why? Your involvement or self imposed exile from God's Plan has been known from the beginning. God's Plan will be accomplished with or without you.

Because you make these grand claims. Yet can't produce any evidence.

I do not think, nor do I claim to know the answers to the questions I asked.

I may, or may not reject his answer. If I feel that his answer is solely scripture and void of any fact and/or proof, it is my prerogative to reject.

Enlightened despair? I offer no such thing.

Truth? It is impossible to claim truth when one cannot back up such claims with concrete evidence. I can claim that each and everyone of us will die someday. I have evidence of such. I cannot claim that each and everyone of us will go to Heaven or hell. I have no evidence of such and neither do you.

Hope? I do not believe in false hope. I do believe in helping people to be comfortable. I would not tell someone that I will pray for them and that God will pull them through. I would not tell someone that with God all things are possible. That is false hope. I rather tell a person to try the the best they can. If everything fails, oh well, that's life. We live and we die. Very simple.
What annoys me is the people who preach the power of their God and quickly change the tune when the first sermon prove to be less than zero. Such as "God will bring them home safe." The tune changes when the bodies are found in a shallow grave. False hope.
