This case affects me how?

I have no idea. If you don't care about the subject, why are you replying?

To make others think the same thing rather than argue aimlessly on the interwebz

But some people are just born this way...it's in their nature to argue. It makes them feel good no matter how repulsivly wrong their actions are. Who are you to voice your opinion and attempt to change their sick mind?;)

Potato, potato.

These sound the same here on my end.

Did you know that on the interweb, the emphasis is on the "P?" Would you like to know why?

(I have a feeling that nobody gets, nor cares about my Buzz Killington jokes...too bad.)

Chuck, everyone has a conscience. It's what seperates us from the animals.

Really? Have you never heard of sociopaths?

Pretty sure the word you're looking for is psychopath.

What good does proving your case do if the jury nullifies it?

That's my point. They didn't prove it or there would have been a guilty verdict.

All it took to free the defendant was reasonable doubt, and the jury obviously had that.

Sums it all up right here. You need to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. It doesn't matter if you "feel" like she's guilty. And showing the mother partying a week after the child's disappearance is not proof. It barely even qualifies as circumstantial evidence.

This. I think Casey probably killed her child, but I'm not convinced beyone any reasonable doubt. From what I heard on TV and read online, the prosecution didn't even prove the child was murdered, much less who did it. We know the kid is dead, there was an attempt to cover up the death, and the mother reacted strangely to the child's death/disappearance and lied about things. None of these are proof that Casey actually killed the baby, much less intentionally.

I heard on our local news this evening, a search and rescue team is looking into possibly suing Casey Anthony and her family. The team contends that they were requested to search for Casey's 'missing' daughter. The search team's suit would be based on the fact they were lied to. Sounds familiar.

What about it man? I have no problem displaying the analogous sentiments of hatred in christophobia to that of rascism or homophobia....hatred is hatred.

What's the problem?

Your obsession with me, as disturbing as it may be...is rather flattering. I think your misrepresentation of my quotes out of context is kinda cute...it reminds me of my crazy, jealous, dim-witted ex-girlfriends who's flustered emotions render them incapable of honest discussion...Perhaps I can just say I was wrong, kiss and make-up...but I doubt you're that easy.

OK, I had not heard of Casey Anthony until this Tuesday. I had probably seen some headlines, but they must not have stood out against the countless other murder headlines I regularly see. And, while of course it disturbs me that a child was murdered, I am now finding it disturbing to watch the mob mentality and the blaming of the jury going on in this case. Do we really want juries convicting someone outside of what their instructions are, based on them being "pretty sure" someone's the killer even though there isn't enough evidence to prove it?

Grow the fuck up, people. The jury had a difficult job that somebody had to do. I'm sure if they felt she was involved then they were even more upset about not being able to convict her.

Sheesh, people get so freaking crazy when they want revenge (especially for a child), that they can't even think straight. They couldn't hang the mother, so now they're wanting to hang the jury.

+1

I am sure (and it was stated) that they were "sick" about having to return that verdict, but as someone pointed out (here or elsewhere, I get mixed up) our legal system is not about "sides" working together to get the "truth," it's about who gets the better attorney, who can work the system, etc. That said, I'd rather have innocent until proven guilty than the other way, and there has to be some sort of system to make that happen... Yeah I think she probably did it, and that's messed up, but it's not the jury's fault that bad sh!t happens, and that sometimes legality is not enough for "justice." The child is dead and gone, Casey Anthony will never have a normal life, and being on that jury had to be one of the most trying experiences anyone could go through... I get that people have emotions and want to blame someone, but you are right-- it is way misplaced.
