On the upside, he takes border security seriously and understand the real and deadly threat. I will give him that... his seriousness about our border. He has pushed for expanded highways (la Entrada al Pacifico) to bring Chinese goods out of Mexico, bound for Midland/Odessa and Dallas. To those of us who live in far West Texas, we don't like the idea of big rigs running through our towns. I know personally, ranchers who have lost grazing land (eminant domain) so by-pass routes could be built. While 'Town Hall' meetings were being held, in regard to these highways, work on them continued. Work was supposed to have been stopped. I just get the impression that he's 'dirty'. He is charged with appointing the Board, but he is supposed to stay out of the day to day running of the University. It has upset a lot of Former Students.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."

He needs to keep his nose out of it. I dang sure didn't vote for him in the last election. Sad thing is, he's got too many people fooled... enough to keep him in office. I really don't care for the idea of him running for president. I think, he'd sell his mother if he thought he'd gain from it. Chuck
wmw999 2,589 #8 June 19, 2011 Well, as one of those nasty liberals he doesn't want to curry favor with, all I can say is that he has great hair, and not much else right with his head. His opinions and policies all appear to be designed to gain him the most political edge with his target crowd, and not to come from inside him. He's supposed to be the governor of all of Texas, and not just the ones he agrees with. That doesn't mean he's supposed to turn liberal, but he's supposed to treat his citizens with respect -- all of them. Wendy P.There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. No real ideas, nothing innovative...just hate on "liberals" and you gain votes. Sad, really. Be humble, ask questions, listen, learn, follow the golden rule, talk when necessary, and know when to shut the fuck up.
